Re:Which SaaS product do you wish was free? on Wednesday July 19, 2023 @07:25AM (#36784672)
Calculate the net pay etc. while being compliant with federal/state regulations only, or automate payments to employee accounts as well? What is the minimal value that such saas can provide to get massive number of users?

Re:Tesla catches fire on Highway 50 near Rancho Cordova on Monday January 30, 2023 @04:28AM (#34577588)
In the end they say ICE cars catch fire more than EVs. In my European country older diesel cars catch fires and burn quite regularly unfortunately.

Re:How Long Would Society Last During a Total Grid Collapse? on Wednesday November 23, 2022 @03:48AM (#33716680)
Similar story here - when NATO bombed Serbia (we were part of Yugoslavia in 1999) we had similar experience. We had 4 hour blackouts per day, not more luckily, as everyone had a lot of frozen food that could go bad if blackouts were longer.
Non remote business should pay more in taxes bc of damage done to the environment.

Yeah, losing good people this way does not look good for Spotify
Wow, having an ocean near by is great. Also made a food reserves from when crazy times started in 2020 along with 2022 extra supply for possible thermonuclear war :)
Yes, it's all about the perspective, basically do what you can to improve the world and then just enjoy the ride.
This is great attitude, I would even say we are standing pretty good if not best ever in human history so far, considering the human experience in the past.
Sounds like you are in Eastern Europe? I am in Serbia in similar situation but since living through everything happened here from 1999 onwards you learn to just accept whatever life throws at you. So basically just enjoy the moment and small things. The life is now. Nothing is certain about the future and there is no way to buy future wellbeing. You only truly own the past memories, so make more of that fantastic memories right now.
We should normalize such pauses lasting several months
Hahaha omg is this real, hilarious - where can I see more?
Re:Ask HN: How can I prepare for hard economic times? on Monday March 14, 2022 @06:00AM (#30670455)
I am thinking of establishing secondary rural location and investing in full off grid capability
Re:Ask HN: How can I prepare for hard economic times? on Monday March 14, 2022 @05:56AM (#30670424)
I still hope we can avoid the full blown recession, but everyone should be prepared, Europe will be hit the hardest, US should be in better position.
Re:The curious case of Russia's missing Air Force on Monday March 14, 2022 @03:10AM (#30669319)
It seems that Ukrainian S300 air defenses are still operational thus making air raids quite risky for Russians.

Re:Germany considers keeping nuclear power plants online on Sunday March 06, 2022 @10:39AM (#30578238)
Nuclear power is the future, modern nuclear power is very safe and emissions free.
We the ordinary people, we don't care about nukes and geopolitical issues so much, why we are in this now? I will not lay my life for geopolitical issues nor Ukrainian people should be forced now to lay theirs. Lets invest hugely in fusion and move away from damn oil so all of this goes away...
