Re:Ask HN: How do you guys prevent back problems? on Saturday May 04, 2019 @02:35PM (#19828302)
Deadlifts will make your back strong. You can start with almost zero weight and slowly work your way up. At any age. I really mean any age, even 85 or 90yo

Had recurring back pain every 2/3 months since I was 18, for anywhere from 5 to 15 days.

At 43yo started lowbar back squats and deadlifts, and in the last 2 years back pain is totally gone.

Re: ovh - I've been a customer of dedicated servers for 5+years, and never needed to contact support. Last week I got another new dedicated which shipped with mismatched dimms (the motherboard warns about the problem) and contacted support. A few days goes by and I still have not received an answer, and now I'm scared! This server is not in production yet, but what if I urgently need support on a production server?

What has been your experience with ovh support?

Why is this on Show, as opposed to being in Show New? Can anyone shed some light or point me to external resources about this? Thanks!

HN redesign is a recurring theme but I like it how it is now! (even though 99% of my HN consumption (I'd say an average 12 hours/week) is from Premii's android app)
To anyone who read GED in the past, more than a few years ago I mean, I highly recommed reading it again. Your updated self will appreciate its beauty even more.
Re:How I Took an API Side Project to 250M Daily Requests on Saturday July 01, 2017 @04:15PM (#14678765)
Ok have a look at canihazip.com then! Love it!
Used in lurking mode for a few months in 2008. In the last few years I open it once every few weeks on average, mostly because of the email notifications. The facebook is a sad place
How does it compare to Toodledo?
Had the same problem a while ago with our saas product. We receive dozen of requests each week, and except a few exceptions (bigger things that we are already building anyway), most of them are pet peeves and very specific to single customers.

Long story short: we ended up writing our own solution, with a twist. Each week we assign votes to customers, unused votes expires after a while, and quantity of votes is function of customer value and seniority.

Let's be honest: a customer on the free plan or during the trial, that makes tons of request, cannot be weighed the same as a customer which has been with us for 3 years already and is on the biggest plan. A request from the latter is a serious thing for me... a request from the former not so much!
