Your favorite shows, where the season never ends, and the actors never age.

Apple hits home runs though. Google, correct me if I'm wrong, hasn't had a strong hit for a while!

There's bias towards certain big name institutions. Perhaps we should prevent discrimination on this basis by omitting those references.

Should we also hide the names of the universities we went to and the names of former employers we worked at?

Love it.

One comment: I wish it didn't zoom in when I click a map pin. I prefer the map to stay in the same position.

One of the things I've come to really enjoy in Brave is its "Show Wayback Machine prompt on 404 pages" feature. I know this is tangental to your point, but I felt it still worth noting.

Lots of fear porn on HN recently.
Who cares of they do or don't have to pay taxes. Taxes shouldn't be punishment. We should strive to all pay less. The government wastes our money frivolously. We should be advocating for better appropriation and spending, not advocating to give them more just because you think the rich are an enemy.

What a shame
The OC's perspective is that one is entitled to income and being laid off is a regression. In reality, being laid off is a return to stasis.

They consume more than they can individually produce and feel an entitlement to have this lifestyle perpetually maintained.

Re:Ask HN: What other good forums are out there? on Thursday December 07, 2023 @11:04AM (#38557909)
I would not say governments have generally made peoples lives better. I'd wager MOST governments have actually oppressed and depressed their people.
Governments have killed more people than any other institution. Corporations have largely made our lives better.

War crimes, crimes against humanity. Enough is enough.
Ya. You're right. Time to let the theory die.
Unless the mil-tech was going to their enemies.
But the board accused Sam of not being "consistently candid". Alignment issues could stand on their own ground for cause and would have been better PR too. Instead of the mess they have now.
I wonder if the "benefiting humanity" bit is code for anti mil-tech. What if Sam wasn't being honest about a relationship with a consumer that weaponized OpenAI products against humans?
