Re:Figma to Angular/Angular Material on Saturday March 23, 2024 @07:45AM (#39799200)
We are upgrading our Figma UI Kit for Angular Material Components from version 14 to 17 and developing a UI Builder that can read a Figma mockup (UI screen) built using our UI Kit and convert it into an Angular component, allow a developer to perform data binding, preview the component on various devices, and export the Angular code.

The value proposition is to significantly reduce the time a UI developer takes to re-implement a Figma mockup in Angular.

From what we understand, around 50% of Angular teams use Angular Material exclusively, and 50% of Angular teams use UI Designers.

Before we go ahead and spend months upgrading the UI Kit and developing the UI Builder, we want to understand whether or not Figma Designers / Angular devs among you would potentially use them.

We appreciate any feedback.

When you built the real product, which stack did you use?

Would you ever consider working on Oracle APEX full-time or do you consider that a career limiting move?

Yup, that's what I thought, but I have been hearing of late of situations where professional developers are being asked to work on proprietary low-code (not no-code) platforms such as OutSystems, Mendix, and others. Therefore, I was curious to how much of this is true.

Ever worked on a low-code platform to develop a web app?

As a professional web app developer who develops apps using front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue and back-end frameworks such as Node.js, Spring Boot, and .NET Core, have you ever been asked to work on a proprietary low-code platform? If so, how was the experience like? What were your concerns?

Boilerplate code is generated using templates. Templates are written by humans. Therefore, if the templates are good, the quality of the code would be good as well.
Take a look at https://www.getfastcode.com. I am the founder and would love to get your feedback. Please sign-up for our beta if you like it.

Bad Hires

Do bad hires happen because of (a)lack of technical/functional skills or for other reasons such as(b)lack of the right cognitive abilities, personality, or the soft skills to get the job done or inability to fit with the team culture, the manager's working style, or organization culture? My personal belief is that employers do a good job on (a) during pre-screening and interviews, but don't do...
