Re:Can You Use YouTube and Vimeo for Internal Videos? on Wednesday March 23, 2016 @01:43AM (#11342375)
Appreciate your comment on this. I shared my perspective based on what I heard from my customers. As part of the solution, I talked about my own product. You can call that advertising but I didn't know how else to talk about the solution of those customer problems. If you have better idea, please do share.
Re:Private YouTube for your business ready in 30 seconds on Tuesday January 26, 2016 @03:00PM (#10975583)
Great for use cases like Employee Training, Sales Staff Training, New Hire Onboarding, Close Customer-Parnter collaboration etc. Free for up to 10 users team. Attractive pricing beyond that too. Get your video content out of those sharepoint sites, hard drives and make them easily discoverable, playable and useful. Employees and Businesses benefit tremendously from it.

Re:Ask HN: Where are all the non-web jobs? on Sunday January 24, 2016 @09:48PM (#10965293)
This is a very common problem faced by those who are looking to move to a new career, taking job for the first time or looking to move back to work after a long time. General tendency is to look for some silver bullet like a degree or course or something like that to solve this problem. Sadly none of these usually work. The reality of what industries are actually looking for is very different. It's best to get a mentor or multiple mentors from industry who are in these roles and know what exactly do these companies look for. They can also do some mock interviews and give you personalized feedback so that you can prepare in focused way. if you don't have good network yourself, Http://mockinterview.proudfolio.com is a great platform for finding these mock interviewers and mentors from the companies.
Re:Ask HN: Tips for making the entrepreneur-to-job jump on Sunday January 24, 2016 @08:56PM (#10965141)
PM job should be a great fit for you in good tech companies like Facebook, Microsoft, Google, Airbnb, Uber etc. Many of these companies also have growth team where they will love to have people like you who can drive growth of their business/ product.

Interviewing can be hard at times because you don't really know what interviewers are exactly looking for. You might know the answer but sometimes interviewers expect to see some specific pattern in your ranswer. You may also think about using the services of http://mockinterview.proudfolio.com for getting mock interview and personalized feedback for real interviewers of the companies for these roles.

Re:A great way to prepare for job interview on Friday January 22, 2016 @06:05PM (#10956155)
Hardest part about job interview is knowing what these interviewers are expecting. Many times, we know the answer but that doesn't exactly match with what interviewers were looking for. Consulting companies don't have real experience to tell what interviewers are really looking for. Best way to prepare is to get Mock Interview from real interviewers from the companies and get personalized feedback and mentorship. These people will tell you exactly what they were looking for and how can you approach the interview in the right way. MockInterview.Proudfolio.com is the platform for the same.
Having the ambition to be a manager is great, however I'll advise that you first focus on building some functional expertise (engineering in your case). Great managers command respect of their team by showing that they understand what their team is doing, asking right questions and hiring great people. How will you develop all these without having some functional experience yourself? I think you should start as an engineer and develop management skills on the job, through mentorship, reading, taking initiatives etc. (and if needed, pursuing MBA later). Feel free to reach out if you want to talk more 1:1.
