Thanks, included this in the post.
Re:Apple releases OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 with SSL fix on Wednesday February 26, 2014 @10:34AM (#7305519)
to fix it I had to reset my Keychain. Pain in the ass, but it was preventing me from working.

To do this, open Keychain Access, open Preferences, and click Reset Keychain. It will create a new login keychain and keep your old one backed up in the keychains folder.

I do too. Did you find any more details on this?
Re:About the security content of iOS 7.0.6 on Monday February 24, 2014 @03:28PM (#7293230)
Clang currently does not warn about this, but I'd wager that Xcode will boast a feature in the next version that detects dead code due to early returns/gotos.

Really appreciate the vote of confidence. Incredibly humbling, and I thank you!
Re:NSScreencast: Bite-sized Screencasts for iOS Development on Tuesday December 18, 2012 @09:43AM (#4937659)
I've considered it in the past. There hasn't been much demand for it. Can you suggest the idea at http://nsscreencast.uservoice.com so people can vote on it?
Re:NSScreencast: Bite-sized Screencasts for iOS Development on Tuesday December 18, 2012 @09:39AM (#4937647)
Thanks, that's a good point. In the beginning, when I didn't have a lot of episodes, the free ones were easier to find. I'll be adding a quick way to see all the free videos on the site soon.
I run NSScreencast which covers all things iOS in bite-sized weekly videos. Check it out http://nsscreencast.com
Even more reason to buy the developer's independent game, Connectrode. It's only $0.99. http://www.deepplaid.com/connectrode/Site/Connectrode.html

Show him he made the right decision.

Re:Hacked: commit to rails master on GitHub on Sunday March 04, 2012 @05:13PM (#3664274)
I think you're confusing Ruby with Rails. Flat out refusing to learn a wonderful programming language because you don't agree with it's dominant web framework is silly.
No good will come of this.

Wow, kleiba, that's interesting to know

Of course "NS" is a play on Apple's Foundation classes that use the NextStep prefix for pseudo-namespaces.

It's unfortunate that it has connotations from our sordid past.

Re:NSScreencast: Bite-sized Screencasts for iOS Development on Wednesday February 15, 2012 @07:22AM (#3593950)
There's an RSS feed at http://feeds.feedburner.com/nsscreencast. It doesn't yet contain the enclosure for iTunes, but I'll get that in shortly.

I'll be releasing a video each week.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm guessing your right about the video skipping, but I'll keep my eye on it.

....but those aren't "bite-sized" ;)
Re:NSScreencast: Bite-sized Screencasts for iOS Development on Tuesday February 14, 2012 @07:00PM (#3592360)
You're right, ARC is partially supported in 4.0 (no weak references), but learning the hard way is still beneficial before learning on ARC.
Re:NSScreencast: Bite-sized Screencasts for iOS Development on Tuesday February 14, 2012 @06:39PM (#3592303)
Thanks!

I still recommend that everyone learn how memory management works before jumping into ARC. Much of what I do still has to support 4.0. That said, ARC is pretty badass, and I plan on doing a screencast on ARC in the near future.
