OpenRouter could enable/disable models/provider based on user. They could allow users to "self-regulate", if you are working on a government project disable access to deepseek (model or API). Not sure if that would be enough since no one can vouch for open source libraries. How do you know no one submitted PR to some 3 levels deep transient dependency package using deepseek? Only way to be somewhat sure is to ban open source. To me this looks like attempts to ban VPNs.
> If this ends up allowing me to play GTA 6 on my PC within a few months of release I will be euphoric
I think it could even force rockstar to release PC version earlier than planned.
Except they are open with the tech which is easy to replicate. All new models lowering cache prices is the result of DeepSeek's publications.
there is no cert, it's http://
Not sure, but at least it isn't beige.
If I was to repurpose Hubble to be a spy satellite I would paint it black... I know it's not that simple due to sun radiation (including heat), they where probably coated with some mat black material or something to avoid this kind of detection. I'm just guessing since Hubble looks like it's wrapped in aluminum foil.
Not Honeywell. In consumer market they are known only for storage and memory products, I didn't know they do anything else. Timing is also interesting because his regional management office is in Tel Aviv, so it could be just a conspiracy theory at his local office.
Could this be resolved with a capacitor? LED can stay on for at least a second or two once the camera is off? Not sure on exact components but this feels solvable and only problem may be slim design of their laptops.
Thank you for sharing the talk.

I know a guy who works for well-known hardware company. He isn't a software dev, but close enough, works with Verilog on hardware design and verification. One day he tells me how he is working on video processing module and he doesn't know if that module will be part of surveillance system, missile guidance or nanny cam. It's possible that even middle management doesn't know more than him, and very likely the module will find uses in multiple products. He is a small cogs in a large machine, maybe his work will save a baby's life, maybe it will kill a person, he cannot know.
My problem with V4 flash is output limit. When I need to write or rewrite a larger file (~1000 lines of code) it will fail with message like output limit reached.
Didn't both Amodei and Altman called for regulation of open-weight models? Not that long ago on xitter....
Not sure if they support multiple OPDS catalogs now.
I am on v10 (using JF for music only) and with book plugin (forgot which one) it didn't offer to split books into multiple catalogs, which was a bit annoying. Maybe I missed it in v11. Solution for me was to vibecode a simplest OPDS server with 0 css and basic auth.
I often do hand write SVG icons. I know roughly what I want, it's less messy compared to using an editor (cleaner, smaller xml, easier to hand-edit later if needed). Path arc is my nemesis, otherwise it's not that hard. Pelican would take some time, but same as software development, you split it into smaller chunks and do one at the time.
Main problem in complex icon is remembering which (x, y) point is used in which element, <g> with background grid is helpful here. I was even thinking about making extended SVG language with variables for (x, y) points.
I am using SQLite as document db for a side project for years now. Made a custom repository base class that can also store blobs in separate columns, so this type of data is not part of the json document. Today there is also jsonb [1], as far as I remember all functions work the same for json and jsonb.
Also the repo class stores write and delete timestamps as separate columns so I can have CDC. CDC is used for building cached view models and is pushed to object storage every 5 minutes for backup as NDJSON. Another process on home server is restoring the db every couple of minutes for second backup and ready to use DB in case it's needed.
I know there are things like Litestream, I wanted something in process and something that can send alerts on failed backups.

I had good experience with GLM 5.3, but...
Z.AI is the only provider for GLM 5.3 on OpenRouter. I don't see 5.3 on Hugging Face. Not sure if this new model is "full GLM" or something smaller, or if they will like Moonshot AI publish weights but put restrictive license [1], which will again leave Z.AI as single GLM model provider on OpenRouter.

As I understand OAI is offering discount only for users using the model via OR. Not sure why. Maybe they want OR users to try the model and switch to OAI subscription or something.
Sounds like MoE but more pluggable. Not sure if anyone is researching something like this. I still think your swift or GIS model will need basic reasoning and coding to work, so it's more like multiple smaller models which you can load as needed, e.g. sub-agents for GIS needs the GIS model.
Another approach would be to have basic coding and reasoning model and then load specification for language and libraries into context, it could work for self-hosted models, but I don't want whole specification of the language to be send to API and waste tokens on that.
Could it be that they're using coding agents to develop applications they previously wouldn't spent time on developing? Like internal tools, or experimental builds.
V4 Pro 0813 isn't offered by other providers. I can't find this model on hugging face. It's probably not open, or not open yet.
If k3 is open-weight (and it's available on hugging face [1]), how could they force providers to sing an extra (secret) licensing agreement?
Edit to answer my own question:
License file [2] states:
> If the Licensee or any of its affiliates operates a Model as a Service business,
and the aggregate revenue of the Licensee and its affiliates exceeds 20 million
US dollars (or the equivalent in other currencies) in total over any consecutive
12 months, the Licensee must enter into a separate agreement with Moonshot AI
before using the Software or its derivative works for any commercial purpose.

> I think this was fairly obvious and fair 1 - 2 years ago.
And that's mostly for us, developers who use it all the time and maybe for other office employees. Not sure if random person would recognize LLM-isms.
Ah, my bad, first I was wrong about null/not null, and now I see what you mean.
You create a nullable column and then change it to not null. Which wasn't possible in SQLite until recently.
Released a month ago, thanks, didn't know.
> Better option is to just add a new column with the correct definition
After that you won't be able to change column to NOT NULL. You would need migration to create new table with not null column, copy everything, drop old table and rename the new one.
Edit: unless the table is empty.
If your app is a web app you could create a rudimental page with SQL input and table output and authorize only admins. It's risky, if someone gets access to admin account they can drop everything. I have something like this for logs, app reads log files directly and they are accessible only via private domain (tailscale), if I connect to public domain I can't access logs. Additionally you could enable only SELECT statements via web.
Another downside is that it will take time to make it look nice.
> Copying of said works is still illegal.
Yes it is, but at least they are not charging for the access.
I am using it right now and it still works for me. I guess it's a rollout. Someone mentioned cookies, maybe it will stop working when they expire, I am not willing to clean them to find out.
Bosch owned Junkers since before WW2, at least heating appliances, I think airplanes where independent. They started rebranding Junkers to Bosch Thermotechnik ~20 years ago. I think they never sold heating appliances in UK under Junkers brand.
