Re:Is vibe coding for any one else so much fun? on Monday December 29, 2025 @08:09AM (#46420316)
I vibe coded an app and I'm kind of embarrassed how happy I am with the result and how much fun it was!

I'm a senior dev with 20+ years of experience. In my day job, I started to use Claude Code to carefully craft pull requests. Which works quite well in projects where I can point Claude to existing code like "do it similar to this feature" etc.

But this was different. It started when I needed to combine audio tracks from two versions of the same movie. I was putting together ffmpeg commands, manually figuring out sync offsets, and thought hm, let's vibe code a UI for that.

Three days later I have a full Electron app. Yes, Electron. I know. My RAM knows too. But I don't care! It was just soo much fun just thinking about the next little feature I need and want to do and how fast I could iterate. The feedback loop was addictive.

And it works, it solves my problem, and I actually finished a side project for once. Any one else having this experience?

Ask HN: Global warming, what can I really do?

Hi guys, i'm sorry but i'm really depressed after watching Before the Flood last weekend. As far as i understand it's already too late, but even though still nobody really cares. maybe thats the best thing we can do before the really ugly stuff starts. and i'm not taking about weather, snow storms etc. i'm talking about millions of desperate people who start to move and we should be prepared...

It sounds like you know what you're talking about. Would you mind to take a look at my issue/question on the appengine django skeleton[1]. The Problems start after you've pointed your database to cloud sql und start using GAE specific features like task queue etc.

Re:Fire Vic Gundotra on Wednesday April 16, 2014 @11:19AM (#7598302)
I don't know if fireing Vic Gundotra is helping, but I definitly agree with all the other points. How Google is trying to forcing us into G+ is just too much and annoying... And I think they harm themself with ranking pages better if they integrate G+...
Re:Show HN: DotNetFiddle – JsFiddle for .Net on Wednesday November 20, 2013 @09:18AM (#6768062)
This is executed serverside, right?
I'm sorry, I forgot to write about this: We're allink.ch and we do a lot of Brand and Web Design/Development. ATM we create everything inhouse, from Design, over Frontend until backend (Django). But as I mentioned above, our Frontend guys are quit busy so we're looking for freenlancers/partners.

Ask HN: Where do we find freelancers/partners for frontend implementation?

Shall we work with companies like psd2html.com / thesiteslinger.com / pixel2html.com / netlingshq.com / markup-service.com etc. or are there other ways? What or which services do you prefer? We're a small agency from Switzerland and we're looking for a (if possible long term) partnership in frontend implementation (HTML, CSS, JS). These kind of guys are quit rare in Switzerland so we're looking...
