You think a country of 1.4 billion people is utterly incapable of metallurgy, simply because some of their products are intentionally designed as cheaply as possible, to be sold on a market that wants products sold as cheaply as possible?
Are you also an expert on 3D nano-scale material science? It sounds like you only know a couple terms about stainless steel on a macro scale.

So 1 country down, 193 to go? Threatening the entire world with a financial meltdown is not a bluff, or in any way a reasonable thing to do. It's tantamount to a declaration of war, and we'd get what we deserve if the rest of the world treated it that way.
Either way, the stature and role of the US internationally has been forever altered, and not positively.

How many of those CEOs did Nazi salute at a US president's inauguration?

It's about not supporting a company whose CEO is a Nazi. OP knows nothing bad will happen, and I suspect you know it too.

I'm not sure why you think your personal opinions about mentioning that a well-known racist was in fact a well-known racist matter, and why you think you have some sort of say in another person's blog post. This "scale" that you think the author is putting their thumb on does not exist. They are writing on their own personal website.
Re:Portspoof: Emulate a valid service on all 65535 TCP ports
on Wednesday December 25, 2024 @04:17PM (#42511223)
I agree, returning legit banners on common ports is likely to get you looked at more rather than less, since most tools are not accounting for situations where every single port is open, indicating false positives. This is a common scenario on penetration tests, and while it does end up wasting time, I'd rather not give attackers any more reason to be looking at my infra. I would prefer port knocking, which is kinda of the polar opposite approach to this.

I'm afraid that in this country that the desire to convict and see justice/retribution served on perpetrators is much stronger than the fear of convicting and even executing innocent people. And I think police deception is a strong cause of false convictions.

GrapheneOS implements basically this as a security feature against non-persistent malware, and I think it's a great idea that all phones should do. Graphene has your phone reboot after an uptime greater than some value you pick.

If ads are the only way people are able to learn about products, then there is clearly a massive failure of imagination, as well as innovation. People know what they need, and have always known. The concept of exploiting human psychology in order to sell more of a product to people who likely don't need it is a relatively recent development in human history. Plus you can just search for stuff you need in a search engine...

I've always thought that if a union is good enough for LeBron James and Tom Brady and Mike Trout, it's good enough for anyone. The same reason professional athletes have a union and would not dream of doing without one still fully applies to everyone else.
