So it's a pair of glasses that can transcribe when you mouth words silently? I still don't know how it works, they say no cameras and it works with noise so I assume sort sort of reverse bone conducting?

What I find much worse than someone talking directly to an LLM is when you are communicating with another human and they respond with LLM.
That's what Open models are for and thankfully there are a ton very powerful ones.
Re:AI is ruining haunted houses on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @07:08AM (#50257330)
Right, I would consider that fraud. You can tell chatgpt to add or remove ingredients from a image.
Re:AI is ruining haunted houses on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @07:01AM (#50257270)
The tool is getting blamed here when it's people that are using it that are at fault.

When McDonald's uses 10s cooked patties with plastic and craft materials to make their fotos it isn't exactly any different then when a restaurant AI generates pictures of their menu's. The Burger at McDonald's has never looked like the pictures nor will it ever.

It's a choice the owner has and if they oversell expectations it's on them to deal with the consequences. At some point it also becomes fraud.

Re:No Need for Retirement When Utopia Is Around the Corner on Friday October 23, 2026 @09:48AM (#50208941)
If universal high income is just around the corner what sense does it make to enrich yourself right before it?

The answer, non of these filthy rich individuals making these claims actually believes it.

Re:Google cloud outage takes down banks on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @02:54PM (#50170956)
A ton of people in Switzerland use revolut and where effected. Why people still use Revolut as their primary bank is beyond me. Not a "bank" I trust especially after what I have heard and seen.

Don't US car makers self certify their cars? The cybertruck is a death trap for pedestrians.

The cybertruck is for sale and FSD is active in the US. The US lets automakers "self-certify" that they are safe. So although I don't think this thing should ever be sold, it may end of on US roads.

Re:Tesla Roadster on Friday October 16, 2026 @02:02AM (#50114657)
Is that "flying" car a "real" car? As in full battery and standard weight or is it just a shell stripped down to the minimum to save weight.

Re:Google Data Centers around the world on Monday October 12, 2026 @08:09AM (#50055230)
I stand corrected.

> In January 2007, Swiss media reported that Zürich would become Google's second-largest location worldwide (after its Mountain View headquarters). This was based on Google securing a long-term lease for 11,500 m² of office space in the Hürlimann-Areal, with an option for an additional 4,500 m². The plan was to grow the Zürich headcount from roughly 200 to 500 employees in the first phase, with the new space having capacity for up to 1,600 people. A Google spokesperson at the time confirmed the goal: "Zürich will become Google's largest location outside the USA," surpassing the then-European headquarters in Dublin (which had 800 employees).

> However, Zürich's real-world ranking evolved differently:

> By 2016 (1,800 employees): It was already described as the largest development site outside the United States, but not necessarily the second-largest overall office.

> By 2019 (nearly 4,000 employees): Multiple sources ranked Zürich as the third-largest Google location globally, behind Mountain View and New York.

> Today (5,000+ employees): It remains Google's largest engineering hub outside the US, but offices in New York, Bangalore, Dublin, and London generally have higher total headcounts.

None in Switzerland, Google's second biggest campus in the world.
Well, I don't know if you can classify it as "amateur" when the others are corrupt in the wide open. They aren't even trying to hide anything.
They tried to drill for one in Switzerland twice. One in Basel and one in St. Gallen but both times causes earthquakes significant enough that the whole project was scraped.
Re:Remove and Disable Apple Macos27 AI Models Tool on Monday October 05, 2026 @04:40AM (#49962213)
Because Apple sells machines which can not have their disk upgraded and start at just 256 GB.

GS1 Datamatrix is what I see here locally (Switzerland) starting being used for fresh food like sandwiches which makes sense as it contains the sell by date. This allows them to quickly scan items and sort out what has expired or needs a discount because it's expiring soon.

Sadly food tracking apps still don't read these codes. They are vibe coding new features constantly but not working on adding what is actually important.

Yazio, im talking to you...

These are resources acquired from the governments in most places. You have to be able to plan and expand capacity which requires public funds.

I live right next to a waste valorisation plant[1]. They have to exactly specify what amount of water they use and what amount of water they then send out to the waste water treatment facility. It also has to be clean to a very specific standard before it leaves which is also checked.

We have datacenters in Switzerland too, but very little outrage or debate because there are strict rules in place in most places. They can build all they want but it costs significantly more to meet environmental requirements.

The valorisation plant next to my home has water cooling tower/fans significantly oversized just to make sure the noise is keep under the required level.

Re:Startup Nights 2026 is comming up on 5-6 Nov. in Switzerland on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @09:17AM (#49892739)
That is because the specific model of classifying a worker as a "self-employed contractor" when they work exclusively for a single company is not legal. Aka the gig-economy model used in other countries.

The governments view is that if you have fewer than 3 companies you are dependent on them and they should bare the AHV etc requirements. However if for example you have 2 very large contracts there may be exceptions.

Easiest (not cheapest) is always to create a GmbH or AG which also mitigates a lot of risk you would have as a sole-proprietor.

Absolutely grotesk and she is convinced she is innocent. Expect her to get right back into the next grift as soon as she can/is allowed.
