This is just childish. This is a complex problem and requires nuance and adaptability, just as programming. Yours is literally the reaction of an angsty 12 year old.
I've been using Gemini / Antigravity to make a virtual pet for my kids using Love2D / lua. I never coded in my life and have no intention of learning (but I've been learning a lot about game systems and logic, which has been fun). The game is coming along very well and it looks very pretty (I'm a professional illustrator) and if I decide to publish it, no one will care the code is made in AI. It's very high effort, to be honest. You'd had to look into the code to know AI made it.
I now get why so many people are making AI art. I see their "work" as an illustrator and it is absolute slop, but I can see now how it might be fun and even liberating for people who don't make a living with it. So I now think twice before calling AI art "slop". Sure, it may be slop, but it's making a lot of people happy and probably opening up new carreer paths for people.
And yes, I've been affected financially because of this... but I get it.
Ah yes, the perfect world we had when governments could get away with anything because the press was not enough to showcase their attrocities. A beautiful, perfect world, with rubella and a global population living in extreme poverty close to 50% (compared to today's 10%).
I see this mentality almost exclusively in americans and/or anglo people in general, it's incredible... if you're not that, I guess you're just too young or completely isolated from reality and I wish you the best in the ongoing western collapse.
(... I actually wish you're joking and I didn't catch it, though).
Of course there's no way to know, but you may be a little too naive to think that he wasn't considering the fact that people would read this. And then his wife published it. If it's even real, it reminds me of Bill Gates buying himself a Netflix special to clean up his public persona. At least Bill saved some people from malaria.

Please, don't generate comments with AI. It's akin to spam and yes, it shows.
Is this satire? Surely you must know that many (most?) human beings don't conform into your presuppositions about value and the meaning of positive and negative, given that life isn't a spreadsheet.
My impression too. They keep saying "just wait a year or two and...". And they might as well be right, but for now it's just a slightly better way to find information online.
You won the lottery in the sense that you went to college, live in a well-off english speaking country and as such, can burn through 5-7 failures. I'm sure you're smart and hard working, and I don't believe in shaming gringos as if being born rich (e.g. having access to a toilet and clean water) was their own fault. You deserve to be happy with what you have. But will never get to be preachy about it without some one calling you out, unless you surround yourself with people with the same biases.
This is not Reddit or Twitter. Think about what you want to say before posting. Meme responses are usually a sign that you don't really know what you're talking about.
From HN FAQ:
> Avoid generic tangents. Omit internet tropes. Please don't post shallow dismissals, especially of other people's work. A good critical comment teaches us something.

A warning for fellow so called fun-haters: this comment started the first comment thread on HN I've seen that degraded into a reddit-level pun/joke thread without some one immediately stopping it. I really hope this isn't a trend.
(Nothing personal with OP. It was actually a very clever joke. Just had to do this to keep HN standards. I really don't want to lose this place to memes and hot takes as it happened in virtualy every other aggregator).
Yes, I speak english as a second language since grade school... And never stumbled upon this word until recently. This is the first time I read the actual meaning, also. Had no idea what it meant.
We learn from fiction. Try it. And... It's fine if you find it offensive. We don't care.
I'm not a native english speaker, and I'm curious. Mozilla's CEO is a woman. Why are you referring to her as they? I know about the gender pronouns debacle... But isn't it OK to call her a woman?
Is it really? Where can I read about it?
The other one is a viable alternative.
"Mark". Is he your friend?
Would you be willing to share it? As a latin american this really interests me.
