Oh my gosh, please nobody use this.

This should really point to the full-page article:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/03/business/how-apple-and-other-corporations-move-profit-to-avoid-taxes.html?pagewanted=all
And the title should be updated to the actual article title: "Apple's Move Keeps Profit Out of Reach of Taxes"

I think you might be underestimating the level of pay for developers in a lot of the "big" areas. (SF, Silicon Valley, NYC) I've personally heard of friends (fresh college grads) getting offers anywhere from $70k to $150k.
Cmd-Shift-4 allows you to select a portion of the screen to screenshot. If you press Space after, you can select whole windows.

Re:Mac OS X 10.8.1 is out. on Thursday August 23, 2012 @01:57PM (#4423873)
The title should say

    OS X 10.8.1

    TL;DR

What follows is a more detailed explanation of the benchmark configuration and results. TL;DR is short for "too long; don't read". If you get all the way to the end and understand it, you get a prize...
I believe it's "Too Long; Didn't Read"

Re:Django Production Deployment and Development Using Git on Monday February 06, 2012 @05:29AM (#3556930)
Cool! I use Puppet at work currently to do deployment stuff, but I've always been curious about other technologies like Fabric, et al. I'll probably look into them for personal projects or just for fun, eventually. It's on my [long and growing] list of things-to-do.
Re:Django Production Deployment and Development Using Git on Monday February 06, 2012 @04:19AM (#3556765)
Have you looked into things like Fabric for automating installations like this? It sounds like you're only deploying to one (or a few) machines, or is it more?

This part of the development cycle has always interested me, especially to see how other people do things.

As a Django developer/sysadmin myself, I'd be very interested to hear more details about how you deploy.

They do have a full time security department: https://ssl.apple.com/support/security/

And believe me, they take every aspect of security into account.

Doesn't seem to reproduce for me...

Why do I need to make a password if I'm signing up using my Facebook account?
Maybe it associates the Serial Number (or a UUID) of the device with your account when you buy it, and then when it first boots, it asks Amazon for the account attached to the device's UUID.
I just watched the whole video and all I can say is wow. That guy was truly a smart man.

I watched it all the way to the end without losing focus for a second. The head fake at the end really hit hard.

Great video.
