Re:Ask HN: Anyone prefer a terminal based coding setup?

I am a huge tmux and vim user. I also like the fact that tmux is scriptable and have hacked a few more tools like clojure to "program" and automate my typing in terminal windows. This has made it possible for me to type less and become very productive in command line environments.

Inner game of tennis - Timothy Gallwey classic on sports psychology. unpacks ego and its role in learning and performance. from amateur to elite levels. introduces concepts like 2 "selfs". reading this book was a very religious experience and dare i say improved my weekend tennis too.
Re:RDBMS among top inventions ever

Absolutely well deserved. Particularly SQL, the simple and consistent standards based interface to data that is uniform across all DB vendors and Operating systems. The fact that RDBMS and particularly SQL has stood the test of time is both testimony and reason for the unreasonable amounts of unlocked productivity in the applications programming industry. And these include all web applications. Without this, almost every application would be re inventing its own database, just like we see in so many no-sql applications.
