I don't know if they have this, but a good feature a privacy centric android experience would be, to have a simple accessible log of what app accessed what using which permission.

Re:How much longer will we trust Google’s search results? on Saturday January 25, 2020 @08:02AM (#22146064)
1. Google search ads look like search results. While they used to not allow website owners to make their content look like their text ads. 2. Uber shows the rate (and eventually charges) for the maximum possible route from any two locations, when the actual route is generally smaller than that. 3. Amazon charges Import Fee Deposit based on a calculation and when less than that is actually charged, they don't refund it, unless someone actually asks them to.

It seems that world has fallen prey to the mindset, "Screw customer experience, let's extort the maximum amount of money we can."

Technology companies are no longer in the business of making things easier, instead they are in the business of making the most amount of money they can, while not loosing their business entirely. If these companies actually valued the consumer/customer in the past, they've certainly moved beyond that point.

Stop using Facebook already ... it's a liar and deceiving social network.
I just moved up and down and it detected that as a push up
Looks simple and self explaining framework. Would work well for legacy and small projects that don't need a lot of state to work with.

For a language that is named "clean", the documentation page is utterly unclean and cluttered.

Checking up on your friends and family once a week is good enough for most people, Facebook will try to lure you to check it every 4 hours.

"It is also supposed to improve memory usage and stability"

Did you do a comparison of memory against phantomJS?

It would be interesting to see which subtitles are using these vulnerabilities and what they are achieving with them. We could estimate how long this has been around.
Re:I’ve become worse at programming on Tuesday May 23, 2017 @10:45AM (#14401652)
The author is clearly feeling burned out and has lost motivation for his project. Working on something for 6 years definitely shows persistence, and persistence is never blind, there is often something fundamental that is driving people working towards competition.

Whenever I feel like this for a project, which happens sooner or later when you don't have users. You should take a break and redefine priorities. Excitement fades when you are prioritizing objectives that don't bring any real concern-able outcome.

Take a step back, see what is at the heart of your project, and see if it still excites you, is it something worth the struggle and effort? If yes, find a better way to do it or complete it with the way you already know. If not, move onto something new, else you'll keep getting more frustrated because of slow progress and lack of motivation.

Who is to say this guy didn't do the same :)

Many points in this blog post are spot on, The moral of the story is: There is no perfect tech stack or architecture, only pros and cons. The sooner you learn this, the better you become at making decisions.

Some benchmarks on the algorithm in the README would be a nice addition, glad this is MIT License.
Re:TypeScript and JSX on Sunday September 13, 2015 @04:52AM (#10210754)
This is great news without a doubt, Does anyone know what is the direction Typescript is headed now that ES6 is becoming increasingly supported?

Re:Ideas are Cheap on Thursday September 03, 2015 @01:05AM (#10163422)
I think its the loss of excitement mid way executing an idea that makes one lazy. If an idea continues to excite you to a level where you think "you're doing justice to it" i think thats the one worth pursuing.

Try a 100 times and maybe you'll find the one that really clicks with you.

Had fun trying out your example. I really like this "You will note that who the player is doesn't matter. X or O is irrelevant, only who's turn it happens to be."
Re:CPAN is 20 on Sunday August 16, 2015 @08:40PM (#10070861)
I think it was the first better done package managers. Saved the problem of installing modules on cross platforms. Most of the time it works without a hiccup. For a perl developer CPAN is a friend.
Phaser is pretty impressive. i am building my first game on it and i am in love.
