Epistemic AI | Product, Data, Front-end , Full-Stack Eng | Remote | Full-Time | https://www.epistemic.ai

Drop us a line at [email protected]

We are a team of scientists, engineers, and life science veterans building the next generation of tools to accelerate biomedical research using AI. Thanks to the Epistemic AI platform, world-renowned scientific institutions discovered new drugs, biomarkers and made therapies available to patients faster. We are eager to expand our team with people passionate about our mission.

We are looking to hire senior or lead level:

  - bioinformatician/biomedical data engineers

  - front-end engineers

  - AI engineers

  - product managers

  - choose-your-own-adventure engineers
If you don't remember what the difference is between a thread and a process or do not feel like you understand the basics of networking to debug a front end application, you might want to make sure you review enough fundamentals before applying.

We are searching for demonstrably tenacious, resilient individuals who are relentless in their pursuit of a solution and who thrive when challenged. You, like us, have the desire and drive to build something incredible from the ground up. You, like us, are competitive yet collaborative and strive for excellence in your work. You have passion and compassion, with empathy and deep respect for customers and colleagues. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

Our team is fully remote, with team members in North America, Europe, and APAC. We hire in all time zones. The compensation we are offering is generous for a company of our size, including competitive cash and equity compensation, 401K matching, excellent health insurance (no monthly payments). We also subsidize equipment, education, and home office furniture.

Our technology stack is based on AWS, K8s, Terraform, Ansible (Infra); Python 3 and Rust (Backend); SQL, Knowledge Graphs, Airflow (Data); Tensorflow, Pytorch, Generative Models (AI), Typescript and React (Frontend).

If you're intrigued and want to come help accelerate biomedical research please drop us a line at [email protected]

while I agree with the sentiment that it's hard to evaluate the real gains, it's definitely not just about code generation. Debugging is a a big part of the value, IMO.

by mapping `:` to `;` you actually can save by just typing rather than using those pesky modifier keys :-) That's invaluable to my wrists.

Except that for software this is so much more complex than for any other type of products.
Re:Tell HN: Submit comments on IRS guidance to SEC 174 expenses on Saturday November 04, 2023 @05:26PM (#38145296)
I have submitted a comment to the Notice, as well emailed my Represenatives and state Governor. I urge every one to do the same, this is absolutely bonkers and I agree that it will severely affect the startup ecosystem.

Dear Melting Harps,

Not hiring interns right now, unfortunately.

Good luck to you!

I guess listing tensorflow first was a mistake. Mostly PyTorch but a couple of TF models we have not ported.

Epistemic AI | Data or Full-Stack Eng | Remote | Full-Time | https://www.epistemic.ai

We (Epistemic AI) are looking to hire a new data engineer to work on the data foundations of our Epistemic AI platform – anywhere between UTC-8 and UTC+3.

Requirements: - you get shit done - you want to work remotely - you are great to work with - you think that working on democratizing access to AI for biomedical research is a very important personal goal

Our technology stack is based on AWS (Cloud), Python 3, Tensorflow, Pytorch (NLP, ML, Deep Learning), Graph databases, Typescript and React (Frontend). We have a CI/CD pipeline and a continuous release process. We train ML and NLP models on clusters of GPUs on Amazon and on Google Cloud TPUs.

I am taking no side on this, as I don't have enough visibility in the topic. But do I think this answer is unfairly discounting the cost of running the company, both human and financial.

Building and running a software company is not free.

SHA1 is definitely not in the category "will not break in 100 years given current knowledge".
they are now
do you have a link handy for the appeals judgement?
With the visibility of this post I would make sure to link or highlight your skills so others can help. Best of luck, I'm sorry this happened to you. It sucks.

without a specification you can never tell with certainty if there's a bug
Re:My IDE is too heavy so I moved to Emacs on Tuesday December 13, 2022 @11:28AM (#33971075)
Equality of access to compute around the world could be a principle pointing towards doing more with less.

Re:Emacs Org Mode for Visual Studio Code on Saturday October 15, 2022 @04:23PM (#33218268)
The maintainer of org-mode seems interested in this project, which I thought was cool.

It would be interesting to understand why UT and NM fare so much better than MA or NY – or VT and DE for that matter.
