If the people quitting are genuinely worried about the end of the world, why don't they break their NDAs and share the specifics of what they are seeing?
I mean, logically speaking, it makes sense to break your NDA even if you thought it would save 10 people, let alone most of humanity.
Awesome work. The work truly needs it!

This is incredible. I tried it for quick UI element replacements in a screenshot, and it nailed 3/4 elements I highlighted first attempt.
As I'm finding with the best GenAIs, this allows for granular iteration, which is where it becomes useful in an industry-wide manner.
I love this! It's heading in a very similar direction I am passionate about!
If we are generating artifacts with AI, they should be made out of source code or other form of project file that humans can actually inspect and learn from. I'm doing the same with music: https://johnoestmannmusic.com/0009-when-we-become-discoverer...
My hope is that, like Jev, we're going to see Open alternatives to Muse using this framework within days
Which is interesting, because I've always been a musician first and software dev as a side interest, and I feel like LLMs have made the software iteration loop fast enough that it feels as exciting as making music for me.
I wonder if there's some blend of software and other interest that might rekindle that novelty for you?
> We don’t know exactly who is responsible for the Minecraft reference, but Trump said in a speech that 20-year-old programmer Edward Coristine was a lead engineer on the project. If that name doesn’t ring a bell, you might remember him for his nickname “Big Balls,” or his involvement in Elon Musk’s DOGE.

I am already seeing more companies hire people who are developer-adjacent, especially now with AI-assistance.
I don't think software developers are going away, but likely headed more in-house, as each company can cheaply have bespoke software made and maintained.
See, you should now share it, so others can benefit without everyone having to do the same re-training :)
Absolute negligence by OpenAI
This is a product negligence issue. If the product is "too smart and powerful" for them to handle, they need to bring in better management.
Exactly this. In any other industry, that CEO would have been yeeted out of there

It makes me gleeful to see Microsoft adding genuinely new and useful features to their standard products. Whether true or not, it feels like it's been such a long time..
As people keep repeating, this is simply a product negligence issue. There is a mythic quality given to "AI" in the narratives that Dario and Sam are pushing which somehow lets AI companies offload responsibility for things that would be an extreme liability in every other industry.
I'm a big fan of Jensen Huang's interviews at the moment - these companies should be validating their software is safe before releasing it to the public. And if the current CEOs can't ensure that internal testing is done safely, they should step aside for CEOs that can.
Exactly. For all Anthropic and OpenAI's fearmongering about not releasing open weights AIs, because it will enable hackers - we have been seeing that hacking happening already. It is happening FROM THE CLOSED-WEIGHT LABS THEMSELVES
Take out the word "AI", and this is simply an organization's (OpenAI's) products causing real damage to all of these platforms around the world.
You want AI labs to pace? Simply hold them liable for their products.
Same here! DeepSeek v4.1 Flash has been my moment of "does everything I need, cheaply. Please now focus all R+D on making this efficient enough to run off a laptop"
There is an enormous amount of time that goes into ticket and other triaging admin across industries. Its use cases go beyond that, but that alone would save a huge number of person-hours.
I love that, within days of Jev being released, we have a flurry of open alternatives. This is kinda the open-source dream :)
I noticed my YouTube recommended searches seeming to change based on what Claude has just recommended me the other day. I do wonder how much of this data is being shared between the companies.
I this is part of a larger issue of our economics rewarding immediate results, but not good process.
Basically, as long as this is the mechanism by which people earn money to stay alive, the world will always be optimized towards results.
For me the tell for AI-generated-anything is
too much detailLike, it just throws everything in there, because it doesn't have the same friction that humans do.
Blocked the a few attempts I tried, usually by changing the amount of fencing:
- Let the player jump over walls
- Let the player teleport the flag to them
- Make the world 3D
Interesting, I shall have to try this on other software!
