Love this. Really. Everytime I hear people say "yeah I don't want kids because of how f* the planet is" it turns out all these guys are part being 100% themselves part of the problem.

What if we focus on having a positive impact ourselves ? What if we teach our children what we're learning so that the next gen might eventually do things better than we do instead of just saying "oh yeah kids are just bad for the environment, but I do literally 0 efforts myself to do something, so here's a nice excuse I made up to justify my behavior". Sort of.

I think GitLab is a full remote company ? And I also think they're doing just fine. They seem to employ people from around the world in a 100% remote setup. Honestly, I find this cool.
I once tried PhotoView, not sure it has the features you ask for but it is a self-hosted photo "viewer" I guess ? Setup is easy using their podman image).

Nice sounds cool. Thanks
Btw, for the browser header there's a nice add-on called Chameleon.
How do you get (physical) mail?

Yeah, once thing I do for email is use simplelogin, so I basically never give up my real mail to any service.

Can you elaborate what you exactly obfuscate ? Would be interested in learning new privacy things.
I was not implying we should be perfect. Merely that we preach unto others what we don't do. And what good is that ? Do what I say but not what I do? Sorry, it makes no sense to me.

In any case, I'm not wanting to get political here, which doesn't make sense, but it's pretty new to me that Ukraine, or for that matter, any european eastern country is our "ally" (US/EU/UK) what we merely did the last 20 years is exploiting them to get what we need (e.g. precious metals, oil and stuff), just as we're doing with Africa.

I get your point about critics, but we condemn, accuse and create conflicts around things we do just the same as Russia. All this, is creating a huge mess and threat of very very severe escalation, that will probably impact Humanity in its entirety. So, in some sense, it's scary and outrageous to see that we (stupid) humans cannot get along.

To me, the fact is that before pointing to what wrongs others do, we should fix our own thing. The US collects so much data about everyone, but people seem to find that ok. On the other hand, Russia collecting data is outrageous. This is such a weird thinking tbh.

I am indeed more afraid of what my own country can do with my data than foreign countries, especially Russia.
