Re:Forebruary, an endless wall calendar on Thursday August 01, 2013 @04:53PM (#6143461)
It is cool. But is it useful? The only information it gives is day of week, assuming you already know where to position your slider. It doesn't have holidays and number of days in a month. So if you don't already have a calendar with all the information, you can't use this calendar.

Wow how did you get it translated to so many different languages?
Re:Ask HN: '2 weeks ago' vs 'July 12, 2013 1:46pm' on Friday July 26, 2013 @03:17PM (#6109950)
That's a good point. 'X days ago' becomes meaningless once the page is stale.
Culturally, politically, racially, or religious sensitive names such as:

god allah mohammed jesus evil satan 666 13 taliban terrorist terrorists jahar hitler nazi georgezimmerman arielcastro etc

Cofounders' names and their variations.

Both are not hard to implement. But exact timestamp has a timezone problem, while 'xx ago' is universal.
Thanks both of you! That's what I am going to do. Get a theme and rebuild the landing page.

Ask HN: what are the good places to find a web graphic designer?

I just release my MVP beta bamrang.com. Everyone tells me it looks terrible (and I agree ;P). I need to find a designer.I can't pay big bucks for it and have no experience working with a graphic designer before. But where to find one that is "good enough"? One that is willing to customize instead of giving me a standard template like those on Themeforest. What is the ballpark figure I...

That is true. But why would her lawyer be willing to risk his reputation to help Rowling to make more money? Just trying to solve this puzzle.

Interestingly all the 1 star reviews happened only after the author's true identity was revealed. What kind of psychology is that?

A show is like a dream. There are so many images, so many ideas that cross my mind during a shower. But they can be just as easily forgotten as a dream if you don't deliberately memorize them after the shower.
I have no experience on hardware startups. But my gut feeling is that they do have additional layers of complexity relative to pure web startups. As such it makes sense to have somewhat more co-founders than web startups.

However, the more people you add to a team, the slower it moves and the team dynamics grows exponentially. It will reach a point after which you get diminishing marginal gain, or even negative gain.

For a startup I believe agility is critically important. I would be worried to add too many people from the outset because it is difficult reverse it. It's hard to 'unfounder' a cofounder later on. My advice is to have a core team of 2-3 cofounders to see how it goes. If you really feel insufficient after a while, bring one in one at a time. It is less risky than having too many in the beginning and discover problems when it's too late.
