Valve is a business but they're also a brand. It doesn't help their brand to be bombarded by slop created by a third party. The initial money is a trifle compared to how many refunds they'll have to dish out. It's like a brute force attack, AI is doing it to a lot of industries and fields including mathematics.

Yeah, it's a dishonest business practice to hide the use of AI.

Consumers should be able to make informed decisions about what they buy and people that like AI slop can consume AI slop.

Valve is getting bombarded by slop too.

People are proud to use AI but don’t want the AI label. Seems sus.

Valve is just as much of a victim.

your schtick is dead. you live in 2015 hr lady daycare land where everything you say is an advertisement for your vision board or dream journal. if you can’t feel positive about a weed induced delusion you down vote an oppressor or use a misappropriated term as a hollow slur.

I’m bored of how shocked people are about this. It’s been going on decades now. Think of all the great and/or famous men that have killed themselves in the last 60 years. It stacks up quick. No one cares.

Social media that allows users to vote on reality is astroturfed by design.

Wouldn’t this and similar efforts to centralize bureaucracy make AI the new gatekeeper? Without reliable transparent models we’re just trusting OpenAI instead of a hundred top legal firms.

It’s not cynical, you’re just over simplifying. Many of my family members are very bright and funny. I’m generally considered a funny person. It’s not an either/or. I mean, you’re kind of illustrating my point.

Math is a thing of interest and time investment to better understand the world but it’s also got a IQ entry fee.

Because we’re social animals and 84% of the population can’t do calculus or understand any meaningful statistics. It makes honest discussion and cooperation with the average person nearly impossible.

A high IQ allows for a higher quality of life both superficially and meaningfully. This experience is usually weighted down by bullies and vindictive dysfunctional people. Envy is an intense oppressive force.

Stupidity in the sense of doing nothing good for themselves or anyone else, yeah. People are mostly a collection of local context clues about overly emotional nonsense.

It’s a lot of transnational corporate level head game stuff to realign Democrats towards neoliberalism. It results in gutting companies for ideological and/or post-political globalist ends. Grifting has nearly eliminated civics. It’s like players are trying to buy, strip, and flip America. Like a leveraged buyout of the US or something. Look at everything that came out about Blizzard for example. It’s spooky.
Re:Why is Everyone in Tech so sad?
on Friday August 07, 2026 @10:53PM (#49218502)
Tech corporations co-opted open source technologies and liberalism by employing a bunch of wokies to act as social interfaces. Feminism has been doing the same thing to tech and media that Mitt Romney and private equity firms have been doing to brick and mortar businesses for the last 25 years.

It should tell you how much hysteria is surrounding LLMs and VLMs right now that someone has to say this stuff. It’s almost like most humans aren’t conscious.
