WASM

All my side projects for the last year+ have used full stack Rust.

AGI is human level intelligence. superintelligence is ASI
>used techniques that shouldn't have been available to him

odd for a hacker to take that attitude ...

perhaps, back in the day, when windows machines would automatically run autorun.inf if present on a cd or usb drive regardless of whether the machine was locked or not.
Re:Model Collapse Is Happening, We Just Pretend It Isn't on Friday March 27, 2026 @04:51AM (#47540353)
>demonstrates that model collapse can happen

yes, so given the title one might expect cited research that model collapse IS happening, as per OP's point.

they can be super easily moved. just use the existing export feature, all a competitor needs is ability to import conversations.

Re:Radioscope: A device that turns Wi-Fi activity into sound on Sunday December 28, 2025 @09:47AM (#46411429)
I built something slightly unusual over Christmas

Radioscope, a device that turns Wi-Fi activity into sound.

It started as an exploration into sonifying data and finding ways to perceive invisible systems without looking at a screen. With a Raspberry Pi and headphones, you can “hear” your wireless environment in real time. Access points, clients, handshakes, data transfers all become texture and rhythm.

It’s not a surveillance tool and it doesn’t capture payloads, it just listens to signal activity patterns and maps them to audio.

One thing that interested me was the ability to passively recognise different behaviours and wifi environments by ear. For example, bursts of management frames (like deauth storms) have a very distinct “signature”. Not sure if the use case here is art, accessibility, security research or just curiosity but exploring the boundary between networks and perception is interesting.

Mostly, it was an excuse to play with Rust and Dioxus, pcap parsing, and audio design and to see what happens when you treat networks like music. I find it quite relaxing as background noise.

react isn't a framework, it's a library.
Re:Can a Passenger Hack an Airplane? on Sunday November 26, 2023 @09:02AM (#38421652)
wow, I came here to comment that of course passengers can't hack an airplane, at least in the sense of taking control of it, because there's no way that anyone with half a brain wouldn't have an absolute air gap between the passenger facing systems and the flight control systems.

still not sure I believe it!

Re:Jupe: Off-grid shelters that pop up anywhere on Earth on Sunday October 15, 2023 @02:31PM (#37892117)
for $25K I could get an off grid shelter that I could drive around!
Re:Zig: The Modern Alternative to C on Friday March 10, 2023 @10:29AM (#35095566)
genuine question: why might you pick Zig over Rust?
> Nothing about blockchains, DLTs, crypto, at its core is a scam to me

No, the scam part is the idea that crypto is going replace fiat and as such will be worth many times more in the future than it is now.

I'd also be very, very surprised if there wasn't price manipulation going on with crypto trading.

> Is someone out there really thinking “ah man, if only advertisements were more relevant!” ???

honestly, yes. adverts pay for most if not all of the free content on the internet. if adverts were more targeted they would become more profitable and therefore pay for better content.

very well target ads will suggest things to you that you would genuinely like or would be useful to you but have not yet heard about.

Re:Ask HN: How have you cured your RSI? on Thursday April 01, 2021 @02:22AM (#26657190)
what fixed it for me was Yoga. a complete cure. aged 28 I was terrified I was going to lose livelihood not to mention perhaps the use of my fingers. aged 50 now, no troubles at all.
Re:A+, the Programming Language of Morgan Stanley on Wednesday August 28, 2019 @06:18AM (#20818381)
I agree with you, but on the other hand all tech jobs appear to have a hard requirement for <x> years experience in particular languages or technologies.

I have never seen a job advert that says "we don't care what skills you already have so long as you're good at learning".

Without the right keywords on your CV there's a good chance no-one will even see your CV because it gets automatically filtered.

Re:Paul Graham: Six Principles for Making New Things on Thursday March 20, 2008 @10:49AM (#141635)
I particularly agree with (a) creating simple solutions but even more so with (c) solving problems that actually need to be solved.

It’s amazing how often a complex solution can create more problems than it solves and / or completely miss the underlying problem.
