I'm building a self hosted photo gallery with lots of features minus having to share your photos with Google/Apple.

I'm a photographer and I find myself often wanting to show someone a photo but then spend minutes trying to browse all my 30,000 photos to find it. I'm not fond of Lightroom Cloud, Google Photos, Apple Photos, etc, so I built my own, Your Own Gallery (Own Your Gallery).

It can tag images for textual search ("cloudy mountains with trees"), identify dogs and humans, and supports lots of other ways of filtering/sorting/searching photos. All the processing is done on your own computer (which can be quite slow on older machines with lots of photos).

It currently has support for NearlyFreeSpeech hosting.

There's a web app you can deploy yourself or you can just deploy the backend and connect to it from the iOS app (coming soon).

Menu Engineering (https://github.com/TravisBumgarner/menu-engineering) I have a friend who manages their restaurant's menu via an Excel doc. Tabular data does not play well with a menu's tree structure. So I'm building them an app to more easily build and analyze the menu.

Fast Classifieds (https://travisbumgarner.dev/marketing/classifieds) A lot of the jobs I'm looking for are on smaller company job boards only. It takes me about an hour or two each time I want to browse all the sites I have bookmarked. I made a little app that automates the process and reduces the time down to about 5 minutes to look through the new posts.

I'm starting to shift my energies towards building more hardware and less web/mobile apps for side projects.

I'm currently working on Dice of Sending - for when you want to roll physical dice but you play DND online. This is mostly just for fun with my DND group.

I love photography and I love design. Often, my color palettes are inspired by photos I've taken. I wanted an app that would allow me to create such color palettes and browse creations by others. It's just in alpha and I've got a long list of functionality and improvements to work on but I wanted to share out now.

I fell in love with Mexico because of the colorful architecture. I've found that many buildings would make for good color palettes. So I made an app to convert 145 photos of mine into color palettes.

I really like what Pirate Software does. He runs Game Jams (https://itch.io/jam/pirate) which are a great way to build small things as a way to learn. There's also a very active Discord community: https://discord.com/invite/piratesoftware
I've been programming this library off and on for the last 2 years. I just bought a 3D printer and decided to update everything to properly support 3D printers. Previously I had a 2D plotter but it broke. Happy to answer any questions, consider any functionality, and I'd love all feedback!

I have two main areas of expertise:

Full Stack Development: I’m experienced in working with larger codebases, and my typical tools include TypeScript, React, Express, Node, GraphQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, AWS, and GCP.

Zero to One Development: I thrive in environments that require building from scratch. One example of this is that I recently designed, coded, and launched my first mobile app using React.
