AQR Website Respect Users

I found that some websites respect me. I had my browser setting "send do-not-track", and today when I get on AQR, I saw "...accepted" on the bottom left corner. I didn't know what it meant at first, but then realized that it was my settings. This is the first and the only website I found that has a tip, telling me that I am not tracked. (Though I don't know whether I am tracked, it's still a...

Ask HN: Do modern code editors need stronger visual hierarchy?

I've been using Zed recently and I think it is one of the most impressive modern editors I've tried. It is clean, fast, beautiful and has minimal distraction. However, after long coding periods, I noticed that it feels less productive than other editors like VS Code. I think the problem is visual hierarchy. Re:Im 14 and I want to create AI for students on Wednesday July 29, 2026 @08:43PM (#49104890)
Actually you should not compete in "AI Study Assistnat"(just answer questions), you shouold better do something like use prompt design to constrain AI's output, and let AI to analyze user's level or trends. (sth like adaptive learning) good prompts can prevent overfitting
Re:Show HN: Rudoc – a 4.5MB Rust document converter on Sunday July 26, 2026 @06:35AM (#49056639)
That's fair, but I didn't mean to critisize Pandoc, it was an excellent tool. My point was that for my own use cases, I wanted a much smaller standalone binary for simple conversions. Rudoc is more focused on a narrower scope.
oh you like Veritasium?

Show HN: Rudoc – a 4.5MB Rust document converter

https://github.com/asong56/rudoc

I built Rudoc because I wanted a smaller tool for simple file convertion workflow. (Pandoc was so heavy for me) I once wanted to try Pandoc, but after I downloaded it from GitHub, I found that it is around 70 MB. It also needed a lot of dependencies.Rudoc is not a substitue of Pandoc, it supports limited set of formats (only txt, md, html, typ, docx, pdf, pptx, xml, json) and doesn't support...
