Re:How To Use Amazon EC2 for Bittorrent on Sunday January 18, 2009 @02:22PM (#439552)
so you pay $20/month so you can run bittorent on a dedicated computer without hogging down your own network + machine? That doesn't sound too bad. Is it a pain to transfer the files back to local computer though?
$2.99/month for 10gig is not too shabby!

Let me know what you guys think of it. I will be adding more features in the future. If you do not have an iPhone or iPod touch; you can view the site using Firefox or Safari. IE doesn't look as nice.

Lets say that if I had to write one; do I just do what I suggested? I mean just have the app call a bunch of web urls and then parse xml?

Ask YC: How to turn my website into iphone app?

Hi guys. I run a social networking site. I am thinking about writing a iphone app that lets people log in to send/receive messages to their friends. So basically all this capability is available from the website. I would like to write a iphone application to do the same. I know I can use the iPhone SDK to create an application but what I am not sure about is how to let that application connect...

Ask HN: How to design private messaging emoticons?

I have a social networking site that I have coded myself. I have an option there for members to send comments back and forth to each other. I want to enable 'emoticons'; but I am not sure how to do that.. Do I just put some 'special tags' in the comment and then decode while displaying? can someone offer any input on this?

Looking for a chat software to run on my site

Hi guys. I would like to run a chat software on my site. Think of one of those old fashioned AOL public chat rooms. The key requirement being that it should integrate with my mysql users tables in order to manage authentication. I had been using this one: http://tufat.com/s_flash_chat_chatroom.htm but its not mature enough for more than 20+ simulatenous users. Anyone have any tips?
