Well, yes to both. The initial reason why I started the engine because I wanted something that could run typescript natively. For now it just does type-stripping and some transformations to run react code. For source mapping, some errors are converted, mainly syntax ones, but there are no real conversions for errors arbitrarly thrown in the engine.

The tooling, mostely no. But if people want it I don't see any issue why I should not do that.

Show HN: The Steam Frame's wireless adapter isn't what you think

https://github.com/Sharktheone/steamframe-dongle

I've built a tool which can setup the SteamFrame's own hidden wireless AP ride on your Linux x86 PC. It works, read the story about it in the README.mdHappy to discuss. I accept patches for platform support, but I don't own a Windows or Linux arm device to test it properly myself.

beating K3 and GLM-5.3 is kinda insane
Re:Yet another way to invoke functions without parentheses on Friday October 16, 2026 @02:00PM (#50121945)
TC39 member here; There are a lot more ways in JS to call a function without parenthesis. The first thing to come to my mind is Symbol.isConcatSpreadable or Symbol.iterator which works in multiple places
Re:What was a Token Ring network? on Friday October 16, 2026 @01:52PM (#50121831)
I really did not think I would hear about token ring again
Re:Muse Spark Open on Friday October 16, 2026 @02:03AM (#50114661)
Zuck said by himself that they will release the weights of Muse Spark 1.2, and now we only get that one. At least they bench similarly bad for the size on Artificial Analysis
Re:Muse Wonder on Monday October 12, 2026 @07:29PM (#50064500)
I wonder if this one has the same quirks as the Spark models. They have okay to good benches, but are terrible for actual use
Re:Deno Is Joining Cloudflare on Friday October 09, 2026 @10:05AM (#50020752)
sorry, but who even is still working on Deno? All my friends who used to work on Deno got fired
Re:Mold Linker Version 3.0.0 Release – Rewritten in Rust on Monday October 05, 2026 @03:36PM (#49969479)
Oh what? That was not on my bingo card for 2026. Mold already was incredible when it still was in C++ and I assume it is even better now that it is in rust
Re:Beam: Reflection's 501B open-weight model on Monday October 05, 2026 @03:34PM (#49969456)
Am I the only one who thought of the BEAM VM after the first word of thee title?
Re:How to speed up the Rust compiler in September 2026 on Thursday October 01, 2026 @04:33PM (#49926733)
I think there are a few more. Especially cranelift, but I would not use it for production stuff and it is missing a lot of llvm intrinsics that will just trap if you are trying to use them. But for most it seems to be just fine for regular dev builds with a HUGE speedup.
Re:SvelteKit 3 Is Here on Thursday October 01, 2026 @04:30PM (#49926698)
Still waiting for remote functions to become ready :/
Re:The state of SIMD in Rust in 2026 on Sunday September 27, 2026 @05:41PM (#49871145)
I am hoping for portable SIMD so much. But I still think that often a manually rolled SIMD will be faster.

Also the state of SIMD in Cranelift is also very WIP. They pretty much just support a subset of 128bit vectors with some rare exceptions.

Re:react-html-3.2 on Saturday September 26, 2026 @07:25PM (#49861596)
The linked website uses one <style></style> for the blink animation, and also inline style (style="...") which also was only introduced in HTML4.
Re:react-html-3.2 on Saturday September 26, 2026 @07:22PM (#49861575)
"no css" look inside css
First of all, this is VERY impressive. I wonder how this might effect the output quality. I wrote my own AI execution engines in the past and from that I can tell that it is really hard to get right and event small mistakes can make the model way dumber than expected.

While qwen3-4b is smarter than I remembered it, newer models seem to be way better, K2 Horizon 3.7B for example. Is there a reason why that qwen model was choosen?

My last question would be if the same optimizations could be made to a Jev-like model. I mean Jev is already fast and probably has a high throughput per H100. So could we maybe get to >2B tokens/minute/GPU with such a model?

Re:Platform-Independent SIMD in Go on Friday September 25, 2026 @12:04PM (#49846402)
I hope portable simd will be stabilized some time in rust :/

so nice. FDroid always looked a bit dated to me
Re:When the Debugger Lies on Thursday September 24, 2026 @01:02PM (#49833577)
Debuggers can lie pretty often. Especially if you are just doing things with ASM. I had some issues with V8 debugging and the debugger just saying that a function got called which for sure wasn't. Even with the option that V8 should emit gdb info :/
Re:Linux support is coming to Snapdragon X2 Series on Wednesday September 23, 2026 @11:27PM (#49825870)
interesting. I mean day-to-day usage is a requirement if you want to buy some of these machines for real. But good to know that graphics works now. Last time I checked it wasn't and that was significantly after launch
Re:Linux support is coming to Snapdragon X2 Series on Wednesday September 23, 2026 @11:26PM (#49825863)
Yeah, this just sucks imo. I mean I think for the copilot button there was something upstreamed, but the useful stuff wasn't
Re:Rendering pull requests in the GitHub Copilot app on Wednesday September 23, 2026 @09:43PM (#49825164)
Could they please focus on their website rendering it better? Like I'm sorry, but no one actually cares about the Github Copilot App

I always thought that just kernel mode makes it better.

Didn't know that WG can't use hardware crypto accelerators. I hope it will someday

Re:Gemini 3.8 text-to-speech says hello on Wednesday September 23, 2026 @08:58PM (#49824831)
Interesting to see that they are publishing a new tts model. I remember that they refused to release one of them a few years ago because they were too afraid of abusing it. Now they just release it without any much thought lol
Re:Gemini 3.8 text-to-speech says hello on Wednesday September 23, 2026 @08:57PM (#49824826)
Why does "gemini 3.8" make me not be too interested in their tts model?
Re:Linux support is coming to Snapdragon X2 Series on Wednesday September 23, 2026 @08:56PM (#49824821)
I mean it technically can run linux. But I think non one actually got any desktop or graphics working. I hope it just happens but you are sadly correct here.
Re:Mercury 2.5 LLM hits 770 tokens per second on Wednesday September 23, 2026 @08:55PM (#49824807)
yeah. K2.6 can run on insane speeds. So sad that they don't have K3 yet.

But it can apparently also run 5.6 Sol
