Ah okay, yeah I have never even seen a diagram of the depths before!
Is this the first ever map of real time underground? Have been looking for an android app that does it for ages, so looking forward to this releasing!
This is ridiculously good. I never realised the London underground was shaped like that!
Re:Ask HN: What is your preferred registrar? on Thursday December 27, 2012 @05:19AM (#4972945)
Well for a start, using the same company will make it much harder to move. Often the price shoots up after a year too. And then there is the risk of somebody getting access, it is easier usually to hack a website than a registrar so a cracker or their could get access to your domain through a security flaw in your website. Also, companies are usually either better at domain management or hosting rather than both, I have huge respect for good support teams like Krystal Hosting have, which is easier when they are focused.

I'm not saying don't use the same company, but I always tend to prefer them separate.

Sounds like good advice to me.

True, but they have been proactive in retrieving stolen domains. I know 123reg and others have been known tho not do anything.

I am a massive fan of namecheap, best registrar I have used. Their support team is great too.

Re:Ask HN: The future developer rig? on Tuesday December 25, 2012 @10:19AM (#4966139)
I agree, touch screen devices are great for consumers but even just writing this message on a nexus 7 is annoying. We will be stuck for a while with desktops and laptops, but I can imagine surface like tablets to be common for developers and writers at some point, since it can be used like a lightweight laptop.
Re:Poll: Do you select text while reading? on Tuesday November 27, 2012 @06:18PM (#4839890)
Yes, completely. Usually to track what I am reading or to change the colour, but sometimes for the same reason I draw random boxes with the selection tool on my desktop.. because I fidget.
Re:Learn a Programming Language Faster by Copying Unix on Sunday November 04, 2012 @07:25PM (#4741702)
My standard "learn a new language" project usually is a calculator... touches many aspects but I have grown bored of it. A phrase extrator is simple but can be much more complex, might try it next language!

Loved it! From basics to really useful example. Is there any way to see the schedule of posts?
Re:The Web Is Unsustainable on Sunday July 29, 2012 @12:48PM (#4308940)
I suggested two ideas I had, not saying by any means they are correct... just wanted to start a discussion. And it worked! Some very great points in this post and all other comments.

Re:My Google Interview Experience on Saturday February 25, 2012 @06:19PM (#3634165)
I have a phone call planned for next week about becoming an intern for my Year in Industry (during my third year at uni)... hopefully it will not require such a high level as yours did!
Seems a lot like Google Schemer should have been!
