Re:What's your thought on finding passion? on Thursday September 08, 2022 @12:51AM (#32761317)
If you're suffering in your current mental state, go see a therapist.

Depression makes you feel like this. Trying to find a way out of it by trying to find new and fun things, can be devastating to your current situation as depression will keep you from feeling good and new experiences, even if you may actually enjoy them when you're not depressed, just are not fun.

The 20s are usually not the fun part of life. You don't really know who you are and you don't really know what to do with your life and you may have trauma, that you first need to heal from.

This is normal and a lot of people suffer from it. Don't feel invalidated.

You are good, just as you are.

Now go see a therapist.

I agree. Mastodon is more fun to use than Twitter.

From my experience the allocation of resources and other tasks preparing the run of a container are consuming quite a lot of time.

Pulling the image and building the container is actually just a matter of a few seconds.

I have no data about it though.

I know bashing crypto currencies is well established on HN, but can we please not mention this every time.

This gets annoying.

Wow okay, that's different then.

Really disappointed if all of this is actually true.

Cloudflare doesn't back these people. They provide the service they offer. Not more and not less.

Cloudflare doesn't have any saying in what their customers can do and what not, except the customer violates their ToS.

Law enforcement will request taking down content and Cloudflare will act accordingly. It's not cloudflares job to enforce law.

It seems like QuickAssist can also be used for Transcoding. Plex e.g. supports it.

My Intel i9 11900k seems to support it or has it built-in.

Why don't we enumerate days throughout the year?

Tier is just great. Been using it every now and then for years and I've never had any trouble.
I wonder if this could be done on a FPGA..

Yeah right? I never get it when people talk about "the establishment".

Just as if some shadow organisation is behind everything someone doesn't like.

The world is changing, people. Like it or not.

I just realised that updating an outdated Ubuntu 21.10 system is just kind of impossible without dirty hacks.

I should have gone with bullseye from the beginning.

It's nice for people like me that fear doing mistakes during talks, they may need to give at some point.

I could see myself scripting a talk and run it, while focusing on explanations.

I don't feel very comfortable getting all the attention. Having a thing less to worry is definitely adding some peace to it.

> The issue of disposal is also simply incorrect. There are plenty of places to store it.

The question is not, whether there are places or not. It doesn't matter if none of the 16 regions in Germany wants to be responsible to store the waste.

If no one wants to deal with it, the effect is the same.

Sounds interesting, would you mind to expand / link some site that goes into details?

> It's not nuclear that's massively subsidized, everything else is.

Germany massively cut funding for solar power being supplied into to the grid (Einspeisevergütung) back in 2012 [1] and it still isn't funded the way it was before.

But it is and was still worth it for most people, if they just consumed most of the electricity themselves. [2]

Re:Germany's Energy Catastrophe on Friday July 15, 2022 @03:00AM (#32105446)
Just to make things clear: Nuclear energy is just cheap because it gets massively funded by the state.

Nuclear power plants are the most expensive way of generating energy and the least sustainable way.

We don't even have a good way to dispose nuclear waste. We were checking for a "Endlager" which means a place to hoard all the nuclear waste for hundreds of thousands of years. Guess what? No one wanted it.

Bavaria tried to keep themselves out of possible regions for waste disposal, while going full PR pro-nuclear.

So nuclear power plants are basically neither a long term solution, nor a short term solution.

Re:You wouldn't download a back end on Wednesday July 13, 2022 @08:57AM (#32081963)
I mean you could still intercept and index API requests and generate backend code.

While this has nothing to do with pirating directly, it would still allow to replicate the backend (without business logic).

I came here to say this.

CSGO is also a lot about communication, economy management and decision making.

Surviving a round by backing off and saving a gun can win you the next round.

Mindlessly playing will on the other hand guarantee a loss.

It's also about trust and respect. If your team mate doesn't have your back while defusing the bomb, the enemy will kill you both and you lose the round.

There's just so many things to learn from this game.

The community is mostly neutral quality wise. Some people are toxic, but there are also a lot of great players, that behave empowering.

I love CSGO.

There's only one way: Trying it out.
