It sounds like you're reinventing destructors with extra steps.
The median net worth of an American adult is about $200,000, The net worth of Elon is roughly ~1 trillion. That's a factor of 5,000,000x. A wealth inequality gap of 10,000x would be a great place to be compared to where the US is now.

For me it was a Noctua fan that had a thick layer of dust built up. Who the fuck returns a $20 fan with thousands of hours of use? And why did Amazon think it was appropriate to send that trash to me when I paid for new??
People stopped believing because people stopped paying their mortgages.
tbf he only needs to be right once, and at the moment the question of profitability of these frontier companies is still open
Taxing the rich would easily be enough to plug the hole, and it wouldn't even affect them in a meaningful way.

Bitcoin is still useless as a currency, so I'm not sure that using it to buy some pizzas 20 years ago changed anything.

Bing sent traffic to the original source. AI answers don't. That's the line. It's not complicated.

Apple was selling Intel Mac Pros in 2023, it's absurd these things are coming up on EOL already.

What do you get from upgrading the firmware? I have a 10 yo smart tv that I simply treated as a dumb tv. Works fine.
These bug me so much. Those 20+ minute ads do nothing but piss me off. I have to grab the remote or switch tabs or whatever to get past them. To the point where I'm on the verge of adding YT to the permanent block list along with Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.
Re:Ask HN: Would you support an anti-AI organization financially? on Wednesday September 09, 2026 @10:22AM (#49627122)
To do what?
They're both billionaires. That's enough to swing a few elections and not even notice.

In a few years the VC money will dry up and this gross overspend on slurping data will end.

Ah my bad gopls is fine; I forgot to run

FYI golangci-lint and gopls are both broken if you try using generic methods.

I've been working on https://treehouse.net to hopefully grow into a reddit alternative, starting small with a select set of topics. Bootstrapping a social network is an uphill battle to be sure. But I want treehouse to be the ad-free, bot-free experience original reddit once was.
Using a normal page per blog entry would go a long way to making your site more indexable, readable, shareable and seo-able. (Good article btw).
Unauthorized access is not legal, it's just not enforced in the slightest.

Re:LinkedIn Feed Blocker on Saturday August 08, 2026 @04:12PM (#49225444)
To solve the network effect you need something 10x better than what people are jumping ship from. Even if you had a cleaned up version of LinkedIn, it wouldn't be so dramatically better that enough people migrate to reach critical mass.
