it's fun, but this is a disaster waiting to happen. I've never seen a worse attack surface than this https://www.moltbook.com/heartbeat.md

literally executing arbitrary prompts(code) on agent's computer every 4 hours

Isn't this what happens to your money when it's in your checking account? How is this different?
Re:Firefox Send: Free encrypted file transfer service on Tuesday March 12, 2019 @01:43PM (#19370885)
Couldn't they do the same If crypto code was on server?
Re:Runnit – Make Terminal Shortcuts on Tuesday March 12, 2019 @12:59AM (#19365538)
when all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail.
Awesome project!

Few notes about the website:

Check the meta tags. "title" says "Template" and "description" says "Sample". I tried to share this with my friends and url preview said Template / Sample.

Currently your website title is "Home" it probably should be your apps name.

Good luck.

Re:Studying the demise of historic civilisations on Tuesday March 05, 2019 @02:31AM (#19308799)
Ottoman empire lasted 624 years and it's not mentioned in this article. They mention 'Western Turk (70)' and I've no idea what that means.
pure speculation but I would assume space around that black hole would act like a vortex, like water going down the drain. so anything get close will be dragged I guess.
Re:Amazon puts ads in people's baby registries on Wednesday November 28, 2018 @04:36PM (#18555898)
Check the screen shot, it's not just an ad, they basically added a sponsored item to the baby registry without telling you. This almost guarantees the purchase of this item because it fools your friends to think you need it.

If this is not shady, I don't know what is.

They can easily create a section called "You friend might also like:" and show sponsored items there.

Re:This is Samsung’s foldable smartphone on Wednesday November 07, 2018 @07:27PM (#18403476)
I think the thickness is because of a special cover on the phone to hide the final design. that's also the reason why they turned down the lights.

I thought I was watching an episode of Flash for a moment.

Re:Derinkuyu: Turkey’s Underground City on Thursday September 21, 2017 @07:13PM (#15308104)
I'm sorry. can you provide a link, a source, that says "lopping off someone's head" is a common practice in Turkey? Why would you lie about something like this? What is your purpose?
Re:Derinkuyu: Turkey’s Underground City on Thursday September 21, 2017 @05:18PM (#15307439)
This is such an upsetting comment :( besides politics, Turkey is an awesome place to visit, with amazing history and people.

I hope you get to visit Turkey sometime in your life, I'm sure it will surprise you in a positive way.

People comparing EditorConfig to eslint or prettier does not really understand it's purpose.

yes they have intersecting features, but EditorConfig's main feature is that it lets you set file type specific whitespace rules automatically, across almost all editors.

- Most editors will have a global whitespace rule and you have to use that same rule for every file.

- Some editors can be configured to have different rules per file type but then it can't be done per project. So every project has to use the same rules.

- Some editors will let you configure all of these per project, but you have to save this project-settings file somewhere. Editor specific code is no good in the repo, so you need to maintain/backup it yourself.

EditorConfig solves all of these issues for me.

but what more could it have? Editor config is not a "should there be a space between function name and parens" kind of tool.

It's only meant to automatically configure your editor to use the defined tab/space newline preferences per file type.

that's it.

This is awesome. Thanks
I got the new macbook pro 15' first two days batter life was really bad, 2 hours most. but on the 3rd day it went back to normal. now I get around 10 hours. I think it had something to do with Firevault. Encryption was running in the background and draining the battery now that it's done it's back to normal.

I think there is no need to freak out over this

Re:3D Acceleration on PocketC.H.I.P. Alpha on Thursday November 03, 2016 @07:56PM (#12869241)
it doesn't work with USB 3.0 though. I couldn't find a usb 2.0 hub and I'm stuck. They need to figure that out.

Re:Nibble Sort on Tuesday July 21, 2015 @03:49AM (#9920961)
This kind of blog posts are super interesting and depressing at the same time :) makes me question my programing skills. Almost all of the things mentioned here are over my head.

Thanks for sharing though, very interesting

For some reason it triggered vulnerability blocked warning on my device. Looks like one of the WAV files tried to execute code.

Re:Estimating images using CSS on Friday June 12, 2015 @04:43AM (#9704690)
Misleading title. It's using Javascript to get most dominant color in an image. It has almost nothing to do with CSS

Shameless plug: https://github.com/serkanyersen/underscore.py

Underscore.py is a direct port of underscore.js to python.

What does this have to do with anything? I mean what is the point of this poll in hacker news?
