| I would add the caveat "...as long as you have no competition." If you're in a market where alternatives exist, and they have the certification, you're definitely transparently losing sales. I wouldn't say that its definitive, but it creates a big challenge. And they 100% will use it against you.

Talked with someone this morning who is using "formal methods" to validate their AI generated code.

They are using the same AI to generate the proofs.

ah yes.

Lets indeed treat non-deterministic output exactly like we treat deterministic output.

Re:Marc Andreessen is wrong about introspection on Friday April 03, 2026 @11:29AM (#47627842)
This. I remember many a time pmarca getting so upset and just blocking everyone who disagreed with him on Twitter. It was the weirdest thing.
3x deeper than MBTI...

... that sounds horrible

Re:Peter Thiel: 2,436 emails with Epstein from 2014 to 2019 on Monday February 16, 2026 @11:59AM (#47037374)
He didn't say anything close to "Shooting people in the street is wrong!"

How did you get that from the linked videos?

You do not need optimism to do good. It helps motivate, but its not required.
Re:MCP: An (Accidentally) Universal Plugin System on Sunday June 29, 2025 @06:43AM (#44411983)
To me it feels like an awkward API that creates opportunities to work the limitations of a normal API... which to me is not a great thing. Potentially useful, sure, but not great.

Blitzscaled? Yep.
Ranked Choice Voting goes a long way to solving this as well.
I meant the article was dumb. The clickbait title on HN doesn't match the meat of the article.
Really? This is... dumb.

Well said.
Re:The Twitter API is now effectively unmaintained on Saturday April 01, 2023 @09:18AM (#35400083)
The ones I use today:

- Facebook

- Instagram (finally opened in the last two years)

- Youtube

- Linkedin

Perhaps I'm not getting your point, but... most of the major social platforms in the US are still open, except for Twitter.

Thank you for reminding me why I dislike this place so much.

I've literally got the email right here: "As I mentioned on the phone, we structure them as a monthly subscription based on an annual agreement. Variables that affect pricing are the APIs you use to get data and the amount of data you consume each month. Our smallest packages fall between $5,000-$8,000 per month."

The price they quoted me, over the phone, was 6k. Doesn't mean we took it (we didn't) but that was what they were asking for. I know others that were paying 5k/mo.

And I know others who still had free accounts from way back in the day. Everyone is being swept up now.

"Trust us, bro"
That remains to be seen...

I would not be surprised if he could have offered the api $420/mo and 100x more apps were willing and/or able to pay.

The last time I talked to Twitter sales (about 2 years ago) they were asking for 6k/mo.
That's something we can all agree on.
Re:Paul Graham is leaving Twitter on Friday December 23, 2022 @08:51AM (#34105764)
The only person I saw suspended during that insane period was PG. Hundreds of people in my TL were saying "FU heres my mastodon ban me if you want Elon" and didn't see any repercussions whatsoever.
Re:Paul Graham is leaving Twitter on Sunday December 18, 2022 @08:36PM (#34047095)
Do you still feel this way after they suspended PG?

> Plus I don't think he realizes that the techniques that work for cars and rockets don't work in social media.

This argument made sense a month ago. Unfortunately he really hasn't shown any improvement since then that would lead me to agree with you on that point.

It's now a situation where he has to either find enough new people who agree with whatever his approach is or /win people back/ - both of those are quite a bit harder than keeping people who already loved the app.

I also hope he - or someone - is able to recover Twitter. But I'm not betting on it at this point.

Awesome - Thanks for the kind words! :)

Usually the case. Patio11 wrote about this forever ago: https://www.kalzumeus.com/2006/08/14/you-can-probably-stand-...
Do you really see it being that difficult to get a few hundred customers for this after your statement "A lot of companies need exactly this"?
This is exactly why this product doesn't exist yet - I looked at building this exact app 18 months ago.

Yelp expressly forbids this, and without Yelp, you don't have a product. That said, I think it's stupid that Yelp disallows this and hope that OP succeeds.
