I'd imagine that COVID had something to do with this. Churchgoers started watching mass on the net, and called it going to church.
Yes, most definitely Octopuses should receive the same protection as monkeys.
Laser satellite weaponry is already here. It wouldn't matter if DARPA undertakes this project or someone else. I think it's still a good idea, if it can deliver energy cheaper than building, maintaining, and running a ground infrastructure. It could potentially lead to greater energy security. I just imagine satellites powering individual city blocks or segments, right along with remote villages. I wonder what the radiation effect is from energy delivered by laser...
How will we know the effects and timing (permanence) of injecting the stratosphere with aerosols that block out solar radiation? Is it localized (how will such gases stay over particular areas such as the poles), because gases expand indefinitely...right? How would we control these aerosols so the earth doesn't get too cold?
I think it seems like a good idea, and I'm sure there are experts that could answer these questions.
I give the Whitehouse kudos for proposing such an initiative, at least through research we will know more about what is possible and the effects of such actions.
The paper provides a great overview of how to achieve a more sustainable earth. Hopefully these actions could be consistent over the long term.
Why don't the stock market traders just use satellite? Shouldn't those transmissions be faster than cable transmission? They are only gaining milliseconds right? I wonder who will be affected. It seems like a lot of wattage, but the stock traders antennas are located in the upper US.

Could a desalination water pipeline from California to the Southwest US ever work? Let's say the desalination plant is pumping water from the Pacific Ocean near Southern California, to the Colorado River, to the Navajo Nation, to the Rio Grande River and maybe further. Possible? Practical?

Is that why Jamaicans say "Ire mon"!?
Amazing application and manifestation of induction (storing electrical energy in a magnetic field)! What happened to the idea? Did it go anywhere?
Electrolytes? Better conduction of EMF? Just a guess.
Cool! Induction is amazing.
Wow, amazing! Well they say that ultrasonic cured cancer... right?

Yea, I feel like Aliens is not so far out of a possibility, and the theories are fun to play with... yet something grounds me and says there just are (and have been) some really smart people out there.
You could introduce her to stocks. Perhaps Schwab Slices?

And what language would you use? It must get a command and reply to the command somehow.
I feel CTRL S is one of the best computing work habits you could have, even if there is an autosave.
If aliens are here, on this planet... what do you think they are doing here?

I've got a RTL SDR on order, and I plan on using it with SDR#. Mainly I will be exploring the radio airwaves, seeing what's out there. I just wish there was an inexpensive SDR that would also transmit, especially for amateur radio frequencies.
What do you think of the movie title "He Speaks Encrypted"?

Yes, the reason I'm asking is because I've got a Baofeng too, which is a lot of fun to listen in on, yet there are so many more frequencies out there. I was thinking about a hackrf with a "ham it up". I seems like SDRs are an inexpensive way to hear what is out there.
https://greatscottgadgets.com/hackrf/one/Meshtastic looks interesting. Is this a way to create a sort of private long range communication on unlicensed frequencies?
