The consequences of reducing spending are also obvious, I won’t call it a ‘solution’ given how bad they hurts.
Easy, have policies for such situations. Just don’t show up like bin laden is hiding in the home if it’s the third fake call of the week.
And because their entire existence is to show up, you have a conflict of interests on how you answer the call.
got myself in a heated discussion with cc about that. It confessed that it added the ‘Made by Claude’ in a commit because a ‘mid session system-prompt refresh’ told it that, and that overwrites any previous instruction in CLAUDE.md
Since when isn’t that a cyber attack?
maybe the smartest minds in all of tech can’t do better.
If something changes frequently, is it important to know? is the change inevitable or artificial?
I’ve learned to appreciate lasting things and ideas.
I think OP talks about code navigation, which is objectively terrible on vscode in general
You got it wrong. Use appliances instead of eggs. If getting an oven gets more expensive I rather keep going to Dennys.
It’s classic capex vs opex. I’d keep paying my openai subscription instead of dropping $3k to run a subpar model. If the thing costs $1k I would consider it.
> That's a good thing, but making it clearer what to expect will make it easier for potential users to decide whether to give it a try.
There are not that many options for the potential users.
Plenty of C-level executives have salaries around that number. Replacing them with AGI would be cost-effective. Cost is contingent, shouldn't be part of the AGI definition.
Curious about why the janky manual paper processes, excel sheets, or stuff not documented, was fixed only when vibe code was available. Was it just cost?
> they all have the same mother, grew up in the same house, etc.
I’m pretty sure the first one didn’t have siblings, and the second only had one. Also their mother is not the same person after raising the first kid, or raising two.
Parenting never have reproducible conditions.
Good thing is that we can start using Insomnium now.
That’s the point, with wifi you already have the array of microphones in the room.
When I see suggestions to "own" your email domain, how do you manage the chicken-egg problem of needing an email address in the first place to register the domain you want to lease?
Are there registrars that let you walk in with a physical ID to proof you are you in case your email gets compromised and they get access to the registrar? Any experience with that?
what you mean we can't? there are a lot of curated content directories out there.
GitLab is a completely different platform.
This comes to solve the problem of the terrible UX in the most widespread git service. I won't dare to try to convince my whole team, or company, to migrate to GitLab, but this can be easily adopted.
not having a way to divide notification channels, transactional vs promotional, make it worse than android.
Yes, it’s always about the people. Adding a “small inconvenience” to people with a different perspective is ok, right? just visit two sites if you want your AI news.
How does this sound? It’s about a religion not the people.
> I always say to buy a domain first.
You can only rent a domain. The landlord is merciless if you miss a payment, you are out.
There are risks everywhere, and it depresses me how fragile is our online identity.
> One of my founding principles is that Compiler Explorer links should last forever.
And yet… that was a very self-destructive decision.
To answer your questions: receiving letters is easy, companies know how to do it. Sending letters is not common for the public.

The first paragraph that talks about the OS itself is depressing:
>macOS Sequoia completes the new Mac Studio experience with a host of exciting features, including iPhone Mirroring, which allows users to wirelessly interact with their iPhone, its apps, and notifications directly from their Mac.
So that's their highlight for a pro workstation user.
I read “infinite NDA” and built up a crazy story while the video was loading.
First time I hear those claims about Postgres. Was that the sentiment 30 years ago?
