Re:DO Not CLOSE THE ISSUE ASSHOLE on Saturday April 02, 2016 @09:33AM (#11411435)
Elitism at it's best. Sheesh. There's about a thousand different ways this guy could have made his complaint known without raging like that.
Re:SoundCloud could be forced to close after $44m losses on Thursday February 11, 2016 @10:30AM (#11080660)
Disclaimer: I know these guys through TechStars.

I see a lot of complaints about stagnation on SoundCloud, and while I'm not a user, I completely understand the frustration that brings.

There's a new kid on the block with these kind of services, clyp.it. I liken them to imgur for audio, focusing around music for the most part.

They've got strong ties to the community and even have some big names using their tool like Eric Clapton.

The community aspects are still being worked out, but I know they're actively looking for feedback to help build that out to be the best it can be.

If you check them out and have suggestions, I know they'd love to hear it (There's a link to their twitter on their site)

Re:Elm by Example on Sunday December 13, 2015 @11:03AM (#10726646)
That seems to happen a lot. Every time something gets posted it seems to get down. That said, I'm pretty sure it's just one guy managing it all as a side project, so it makes sense that he wouldn't want to pay for an expensive host for all the traffic he gets.
Not yet, but they're getting to be. I've seen a few pop up for Halloween this year then there's a few touristy cities out there that permanently have them.
Re:N1: An extensible mail client built on the modern web on Sunday October 11, 2015 @07:48PM (#10371691)
Great idea. Very clean and easy to understand UI. I'll take a look at the plugin API. Looks like it'd be a breeze to add to.
Re:Electron for the Mac App Store on Friday August 14, 2015 @12:42PM (#10061135)
But... Why? This isn't explained at all in the article. Why would we need to run a 4 hour long build process? I could google it, sure. But the article should probably also mention that. Anyway, if anyone cares to enlighten me...

Re:Easily debugging Meteor.js on Friday July 17, 2015 @10:33AM (#9902897)
Huh. Never new about meteor debug. That's pretty awesome.
Re:Ask HN: Email token service on Tuesday July 07, 2015 @01:05PM (#9846650)
You could easily use something like Mailinator (or their Pro service) for something like this.
Man, there are so many choices for things like this these days. Meteor is kinda my go-to, but this does look pretty nifty. That said, I think I'm better of sticking with what I know while it's still in it's infancy than jumping from stack to stack.
Re:This Multi-Million SaaS Needs Disrupting on Sunday July 05, 2015 @05:52PM (#9835187)
Wow. Just looking at the site gives me a 2003 headache. There's no clear indication of what you can do or where to go. It's just aching for a redesign at the very least.
