I like having all my subscriptions in the same place so I can easily see what I'm paying and cancel.

I feel a bit like the Princess and the Pea, but those lines down the middles would bug me.

I'm all for "enjoy what you want" but to say that there is no objective difference in the writing of, say, Don DeLillo and Dan Brown, is ridiculous.

This is basically new bundling for ESPN

I really dislike the 'per month' monetization. I would rather be able to buy the decks that I'm interested in.

Might be selection bias but I mostly notice people using the 10-key click one

The monitor doesn't go anywhere. Just leave the dongle.

"artist pay $20 per year" ... "100,000+ artists"
Re:Sous Vide startup Anova gets acquired by Electrolux on Monday February 06, 2017 @06:40PM (#13585452)
IIRC, the Anova cooking was originally one guy at the lab devices company that saw the Nomiku or Polyscience and said, "we can do that" and started basically doing this as a side business.

I hope he got a bonus at least.

Re:Reddit bans Alt-Right Group on Wednesday February 01, 2017 @08:49PM (#13547367)
Well, they do have a reputation for deleting sub-reddits they don't like. It would be better, I think, just to come out and say, "we will delete sub-reddits we disagree with."
Re:One in five of us may 'hear' flashes of light on Tuesday January 17, 2017 @07:10PM (#13422816)
I get that all the time too: Someone slams a door when I'm laying down, and it's like a flash going off in my face.

While I agree that comparing China to California in terms of large scale engineering works is comparing apples to oranges (guess which is which). I disagree (kind of) on the following:

> There are also a lot of rather substantial engineering issues that have to be overcome in California

Japan is a mountainous, earthquake prone country, and they seem to have figured it out. The biggest problem geography-wise is probably all the NIMBY complaints. To be fair, they are really loud trains that would kill property values, and the complaints are valid. I think thats where a lot of those lawsuits are coming from.

True, for Macbooks, they are fine. For MacBook Pros however, they are disappointing. They really added nothing, and just took away. And then raised the price.

Re:A Backdoor in Skype for Mac OS X on Tuesday December 13, 2016 @06:37PM (#13172355)
Well, let's just look at the source code and we can see when/where it got added.
Re:Milking the iPhone on Wednesday December 07, 2016 @01:16AM (#13120830)
What I would prefer is cellular connectivity in an iPad. Throw it in the backpack to use when I want a screen, but use watch/wireless headphones while walking around, or talking on the phone.
As soon as you tie a persons bonus money to it, it isn't. You are no longer looking at the highest quality candidates, but the ones that match the minimal qualities. And since race/gender has no impact on performance (my asumption), this is a bad key.

But, as someone that can check the minority checkbox, woo!

Well, it was banned in F1 over a decade ago

I had a Korean friend that explained dog meat in basically the same way: pet dogs are pets, food dogs are food.

USPS pays fairly well, I thought. Don't know much about working conditions though.

Why are 50 and 60 excluded? Wikipedia seems to think they exist, but it could be wrong.
It would be better if it didn't seem to focus on selling subscriptions to CloudAcademy.
