Why would companies employ human engineers then? What is the value addition to justify high human salaries. If AI is going to get so good (and I am not saying it won’t happen, that’s a separate debate), why can’t AI figure out the prompts itself?

Sorry for being pedantic but content like “I took a bath full of Diet Coke and Mentos” is not doom scrolling. Is it low quality use of your time, sure, but it’s not doom scrolling
LLVM was a masters thesis project (not medicine related but research by non PhDs should not be disregarded imo)

The constant anti work agenda that is thrown in your face if you use almost any social media is so annoying.

Have these anti work people ever considered that maybe some people actually like work and labelling them as slaves is insulting?

This is one of the worst class of articles that are posted on hn. These articles make very confident claims based on their own opinions, are extremely short and make no effort at all to back up their confident claims with any sort of reasoning or data.

Or you are just used to poor air quality so you don’t even notice it anymore.
Why is it interesting to just test one brand of probiotic with a single strain of bacteria?

Surprised to see it on arstechnica and HN.

The concept of Kalyug is hardly esoteric. While I am not from that region, it is bit of a surprise to hear that.

Reddit tier research.
What we need is stronger labour laws, so power-trippers such as Sam Altman can't dictate other people's lives.
It's baffling to me how westerners don't realize that you could solve two different problems in parallel.

When America started its space program, were all of its problems solved?

In fact, are all of America's problems solved now?

You should give it a shot. HN can be too negative at times. At least the YouTube vids seem to indicate that the deck can handle the games of that era just fine.

The algorithmic questions used in software engineering interviews are just glorified IQ tests imo.
Are we going to just ignore how bigoted and racist 4chan is in general?
A better analogy: You build an autobahn for every type of car and then it is dominated by fords, since people prefer driving fords.
Re:Plasma Wayland and Qt 5.9 and beyond on Sunday July 16, 2017 @07:53PM (#14784728)
KDE is not a customer but it is possibly the largest project that uses qt, I wouldn't call it "insignificant".
Thanks! That is quite intuitive.
People, you need to stop disconnecting the moment you realize you are player 2 in super mario bros 1985!
Re:A Competitive Programmer's Handbook on Friday April 14, 2017 @04:09PM (#14116880)
I wouldn't say he considers it a negative signal considering how he said if he had to pick someone off the street he would prefer the one who is good at programming competitions.

However if you are above the bar required to get hired by google, then a higher success rate in programming competitions correlates negatively with job performance.
