Multitrack field recorder with automatic cloud sync for iPhone. I use it for hi-fi recording of band practice and sharing demos with bandmates/collaborators. Great way to send stems too as it runs on the Mac as well and has a built in mixer. There's a social graph so you can send someone a session by typing in their handle and granting access.

working on an app that lets you take multitrack “voice memos” by plugging your phone into an interface. then the audio is automatically synced to the cloud, akin to a primitive dropbox for audio. there’s a simple mixer to adjust levels for local playback. for now i use it to get hi fi recordings of band practice and shows.

Re:The Impact of Jungle Music in 90s Video Game Development on Wednesday November 13, 2024 @05:49PM (#42131083)
self-plug: i built a streaming platform devoted to 90s jungle deep cuts called .mixtape — good curated selection on there https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mixtape/id1391354414
what a joke website
Re:No, React Native is not the future on Sunday January 01, 2023 @04:38PM (#34211244)
when you optimize for engineering effort rather than user experience you choose react and accomplish neither
also annoying how when you "sample" a book the title of the book is displayed over every single page. certainly makes me want to buy it just to get rid of that annoying view... the update just sucks.
Yea I felt the same way and cried internally for a bit and then forgot about it. I appreciate someone writing about it. I really hope they bring it back. I don't think the redesign really brought about any improvements... just change for the sake of change.

very cool! do you have a good guide you could share for setting that up?
Re:SwiftUI in 2022 on Wednesday May 25, 2022 @01:41PM (#31507866)
built this https://mixtape.ai entirely in swiftui. some hiccups along the way but overall i don’t regret it. the speed of iteration with swiftui is just incredible. you can A/B feature and ui combinations like there’s no tomorrow.
Plaid was and is “just a feature” so this day should have come as no surprise… or am I missing something?

big new release coming this month with artist-side album drafting and merch features

could this model be applied to mimic the characteristics of a guitar amp or pedal for example?
i’m working on a niche electronic music streaming app for what it’s worth

Re:CS193p: Developing Apps for iOS on Wednesday February 10, 2021 @03:58PM (#26094700)
i've never used react native but regularly use react for the web and find swift/swiftui development to be faster and less complicated overall
Re:Everything About React Server Components on Sunday January 17, 2021 @05:03AM (#25809538)
does this work with python backend frameworks like django or flask, or is it strictly node?
Re:Ask HN: What are you working on? on Thursday January 14, 2021 @05:35PM (#25783811)
wow that’s so cool! do you have any videos of this in action?
my only gripe is that it takes too many clicks to change your profile photo, otherwise looks amazing!
Re:Show HN: Django and React SaaS boilerplate tutorial on Wednesday December 23, 2020 @07:13PM (#25523823)
yeah i’m inclined to agree. i’ve had no complaints with the react/django combo.
totally agree with you re: django jwt. i actually migrated (back) to firebase auth after several afternoons spent debugging a brittle django auth implementation. i partly blame my own inexperience for that... but i see no reason to bother with django auth anymore as firebase has been rock solid with minimal intervention.
