Child abuse pictures/videos can still be shared or sold online easily without PII. Other exceptions are celebrities or the difficulty in identifying PII in text.
I am sure what you just mentioned are actually the universal human rights according to the UN..
If they WFH, then nothing will prevent them from 'copying' any material they want, even if by cellphone photo of the computer screen, no?

Wouldn't the Skylink latency be too high for video chat?
yes, but most households have more than 1 person living there and sharing the connection for their own Zoom or YouTube.

Thanks! I am sure those atleast will be under intense security and they probably gutted the important bits.

Or running speed records. I heard many stories from veterans that during ranher training they did numbers better than the official Olympic records.
More evidence that Seedboxes are better for torrenting than VPNs.

After acquiring Maktoob, Yahoo! killed dvd4arab, one of the biggest Arabic content forums with over a decade of content, everything from political and sports discussion to poetry to (unfortunately) links to pirated content.

They didn't offer a backup or anything of even the 99% of subforums which were not involved in any piracy related activities. Sad..I still miss the awesome friendly environment that existed there..

This is bad news for a lot of users in countries with censorship. The censors would end up blocking entire IP ranges if they can't block domains.

Guice, Guice and more Guice.

Some teams switch to Go because they are fed up of writing Google Java instead of real Java.

GPL v3 is toxic. It forces companies to hand out their private certificates. Huge no-no for any hardware manufacturer.

Besides cloud providers running VMs /containers on the cloud, is Spectre/Meltdown really such an issue for day-to-day consumers ?
They have a monopoly similar to Microsoft in the 90s.

Everyone is simply using them and there is no good popular alternative.

Re:Do Not Use Task Manager for Memory Info on Sunday January 06, 2019 @07:20PM (#18841701)
I am surprised by how little thought MS always put into the Task Manager compared to every other process manager for Windows, including MSs own Process Explorer.

Even on Windows Server 2016, it doesn't show the per-process memory correctly for processes using over 128 GB.

Had to learn that the hard way when the overall RAM usage was pretty high but I couldn't find any individual process using that much. Then opened Process Explorer and boom, SQL Server was using over 130 GB (cubes..).

Re:Smalltalk 80 – Blue Book (1983) [pdf] on Wednesday January 02, 2019 @04:02PM (#18810156)
imho letting more people read this material shows higher respect to it and its creators than letting it be forgotten.

The book is out of print and not available otherwise. No one is making money off this book.

The chances of anyone raising a copyright claim for a 36 year old book relating to obsolete technology are quite low.
