These foundations have always been a thorn in the sides of corporate interests. Kicking their teeth in under the guise of tolerance is an efficient way of doing it. Weird how the movement is as tolerant as the nazis to whoever doesn't subscribe to their buzzwords and blatant exploitation of minorities' problems for faux outrage.

Re:Ask HN: Have your physical characteristics impacted your career?

I have seen this happen a few times in my career however the bias against ugliness is so ingrained there's no possible way of bypassing it. I think the current consensus is that exclusion based on physical characteristics is ethical because it is a very natural behaviour. I don't really believe this but it is what it is.

Re:Are people with dark personality traits more likely to succeed?
on Tuesday December 08, 2020 @10:53AM (#25346865)
Highly intelligent people are highly adaptable. If the incentives set by the system favor certain traits deemed as dark there will be a non zero percentage of people developing these traits. Especially in highly competitive fields.
For example is it a dark trait to work at the minimum required level in a company while spending the time gained to sharpen my skills so I get a 50% salary increase changing jobs instead of a possible 5% increase for performance?

Re:“Dark” Personalities Are More Likely to Signal Victimhood

I have a question regarding dark personalities as they are called.
Now it seems clear to me that dark personalities are a problem. My question is, aren't these personalities evolutionary adaptations? And if they're evolutionary adaptations isn't the bigger problem the fact that the environment rewards them? I'm seeing a lot of people bordering on sociopathy who are highly successful.
Why focus on the individual instead of the environment that rewards him

What if they shoot everyone? Would that be a satisfying conclusion? I've been looking at how the riot police is handling civilians and it's plain to see most are veterans that still think they're in Iraq. From the 'light them up' when people are watching from their house to how they murdered that guy in the hotel two years ago because he couldn't crawl towards them with his hands behind his back. Something is very wrong with American policemen
