Also, Taxila/Takshila here in Sanskrit is तक्षशिला (takṣaśilā).
Nice write-up. Instead of these photo-finish cameras, would a piezoelectric sensor strip on the road (plus perhaps a regular camera) be a better solution to judge the winner in such cases?
Awesome service! Thanks for making it available.

A small comment: In the 'Edit Site' page, the preview is reloading with every keystroke. Would it be better to make it refresh on the click of a button?

Arch maybe a better starting point than Ubuntu
Re:The misleading stream of articles about scientific studies on Wednesday August 17, 2016 @08:29PM (#12309614)
This sounds like a good idea. But, it may not be possible in most of the hard sciences. Imagine writing an 800-word layman's summary for some results in string theory.

Most wall calendars I have seen follows this "Möbius double-sided" pattern.

The first three paragraphs of the article clearly tells what is wrong with the system - "Publishers are overcharging for content". Basically, they just continued their business model from the printed-book era to the e-book era without much change. The publishers should think of allowing individuals to subscribe to the content and charge them (nominally) for what they use, rather than putting the load on the Universities and making them subscribe the entire spectrum of journals. The Pay-per-view model of Elsevier currently charges an individual researcher (a staggering) "$31.50 per article or chapter for most Elsevier content. Select titles are priced between $19.95 and $41.95 (subject to change)." [0]

Towards the end, it reminded me of the book "Gödel, Escher, Bach".
Re:GitHub has 11,995,200 open issues on Wednesday April 27, 2016 @03:27AM (#11578452)
No, 403 implies the resource is unavailable even after authorization. 401 Unauthorized maybe the right one here.

It is not 404. You need to log in.

Surprising to see that Singapore is at 154 and there is Eritrea below North Korea.

I was expecting something like this when I read "Excel spreadsheet artist" in the title.

How bad is internet censorship in India?

When I open some websites, it is redirected to a webpage with just the following message :“Your requested URL has been blocked as per the directions received from Department of Telecommunications, Government of India. Please contact administrator for more information.”Sadly, the webpage for which I'm getting this message is : http://hugo.pereira.free.fr/index.php which is a harmless site...
