Yeah, I was expecting something more similar to https://vimcolorschemes.com/i/trending
Unless you're a power user, you should check out Photopea[1]. It runs well as a PWA.

This reminds me a bit of Hand and Brain [1], another fun variant with kids. We usually switch to normal chess after a predetermined number of moves.

Re:Modern JavaScript for Django Developers on Wednesday January 15, 2025 @01:34PM (#42715061)
We use Django and django-ninja [1] and like it MUCH better than DRF.

At the root of it all, humans are just part of a larger, enduring tapestry of existence. We arose out of it, and we'll be absorbed back into it.

There are a lot of bugs in that screenshot

Indeed, the "story of the object from its perspective" would be interesting to know for many of the items in The British Museum.

I may be alone on this, but kitty¹ with sessions has nearly eliminated my use of tmux.

Aleksandr's training is public on his Strava: https://www.strava.com/athletes/26934035

Something to remember is that this is his pace _after_ pit stops, so his actual running pace was faster. Also notable is that this course was kind of terrible, with four 90 degree turns and three 180 degree turns each lap for 209 laps. There's little doubt that he could run > 200 miles on a course with fewer turns.

It seems stopping crying is a precondition for the "sit and wait" step.

Despite spending a lot of time with Mr Mac, I fear Draco's chances of success in this contest are slim, given the unfortunate connotations of the name.
Does Brave have the memory / slowdown issues attributed to Chrome on Apple silicone MacBooks?
Re:Ask HN: Contractors, what is your hourly rate? on Friday August 26, 2022 @09:15AM (#32607066)
This is really interesting. What's the reasoning? It turns out this is _very_ close to my own rate, by chance.
Possibly unrelated, but there used to be a healthy population of "wild" parrots in Bakersfield, of all places.
Re:Ask HN: Can I see your cheatsheet? on Thursday June 30, 2022 @04:46AM (#31930090)
I've been pretty happy with `fd`: https://github.com/sharkdp/fd
My wife is a teacher and I built the materials so that she could use them in her remote lessons. She shared with her colleagues, and growth was purely through word of mouth.
Over a weekend during the height of the pandemic, I made a digital school material website that has a "donate" button on it. Totally unexpectedly, it was making $1k/mo via donations. The original hope was to just pay for the hosting costs.
Re:Enormous ‘rogue waves’ can appear out of nowhere on Saturday June 11, 2022 @05:46AM (#31703238)
FYI and unrelated to anything else...you can simply do `document.body` to get the `body`.
Re:A run across Mexico on Tuesday June 07, 2022 @01:44AM (#31650292)
Jonas Deichmann [1] recently finished a triathlon around the world, part of which involved a run across Mexico through some cartel territory. In these areas, he was often accompanied by local police.

Re:Flask Mega-Tutorial (2017) on Monday May 30, 2022 @04:49AM (#31556857)
Miguel has updated this guide (available for purchase). In my opinion, it's worth every penny as a starting point into building larger Flask apps, but does include some material that isn't optimized for production-ready Flask apps (e.g. the chapters on authentication).
