This is almost always the first reaction from customers. They love that they are able be "everywhere" for relatively little money.

I've used Retargeter in the past, but at a $500 per month flat fee, it's not always going to win over our customers. They prefer the smaller, weekly billing based on usage model.

Why I Moved From AdRoll to Perfect Audience

This week, I decided to move our ad retargeting business from AdRoll to Perfect Audience for a number of reasons, which I will explain:1) Better Results A few weeks ago, I wrote a post describing the differences between AdRoll and Perfect Audience in terms of performance. Both performed well, but PA performed better, and for less cost.2) Clearer Billing Practices One thing that frustrated me...

Hi Tom, Ryan from Pear here. AdRoll did not have the Facebook Exchange option when it was available, and we saw Perfect Audience had it first. Also, I do have the same conversion goals set up in AdRoll as I do in PA. (/checkout_thankyou.asp), and they are not firing properly, even though in Analytics I do see some conversions.

I'm happy to devise a better experiment with you and run our next customer on both platforms with the exact same criteria. Email me if you're interested ryan at pearanalytics dot com.

I'm not a rider, but I like the elevation map in the example. Nice feature.

OSE will get you up to 10k links if you join the SEOmoz PRO account, whereas YSE only gives you 1,000.

I agree with your point, just tell me the root domain linked to me, and then maybe in the software show me all of the pages (in case they add it to a footer or sidebar)

So wait, does this just take the 1,000 links from YSE, and then compare them again a week/month later and see what the differences are?

If so, what do you propose you do with sites that have hundreds of thousands of links?

my guess on the pricing jump is because culling keyword suggestions from the Google API get's real expensive (if that's where they are getting them from). Going to get the rankings from the SE's is a free API call, but suggestions cost money.

But the idea of adding incremental cost is also a good idea, but it has to be engineered into the merchant system and upgrade page, plus it really gives nobody an incentive to jump up to the next pay level. But I see your point.

that's what Authority Labs built :)

Ouch! We're desparately trying to get people from the blog over the product, and we've been testing several tactics, and I'm fairly certain this isn't the one that will stay :)
that is an excellent read! Dharmesh Shah posted a synopsis of the book here: http://onstartups.com/tabid/3339/bid/11097/How-To-Price-Soft...
I agree with @mrbird - make the /tour page your landing page, and add a few bullets as well. Maybe even a comparison chart showing you vs Shopify?
Re:VP of Sales or VP of Marketing? on Monday August 02, 2010 @04:32PM (#1568948)
Interesting. The reason I ask is because I just saw a startup hire a VP of Sales, and they do not have a VP of Marketing.

On the other hand, we're trying to get our adoption and engagement rates of our SaaS product as high as possible before we sell anything.

It's interesting though the startups who hire a VP of Sales too early when the product has not yet been validated.

VP of Sales or VP of Marketing?

If I'm the CEO of a startup, and I have enough money for only one of these positions (VP of Sales or VP of Marketing), which one do I hire? And does it make sense to combine the two? Why or why not?
