haha yeah wild reaction to someone tidying up a bit to submit photos of a version of their setup, even if it isn't necessarily the day to day reality.

these are all real setups from real people working in tech

not at all! was great feedback and something for me to consider honestly...

there were a handful of artists early on but it really did morph into tech-focused creators (designers, developers, founders, etc) mostly because the early audience and guests pulled it in that direction

Quote on the bottom of the homepage is a reader saying it's the new MTV Cribs ;)

Most of the guests do indeed stage them or tidy up before they submit their interview.

I will try to add some "messy reality" ones as well going forward!

Have kicked this idea around!

I should try to add this soon.

The majority of these creators are actually designers in tech and not streamers at all.

I do agree that I should attempt to share more of the "messy reality" alongside the more staged photos, though.

A lot of designers are definitely running similar setups right now!

How isn't it?
I'm very excited to share this beast of an article covering all things email for SaaS in 2023. I dig deep into why, how, and when your SaaS company should be sending emails to maximize success (and profits).

Why was I interested in putting together this 18,000 word guide? Quite simply... I love email (seriously).

In 2020 I started an email newsletter that has grown to 12,000+ subscribers.

I then sold that newsletter and joined a YC-backed email company.

And now, I get to write about email every day.

This guide covers everything that I've learned along the way as well as things I wish I would've known when starting out.

A mix of both! The Q/A section is totally optional for guests. I might look into diving deeper on some of the interviews going forward.

I'd prefer if all guests listed their hardware/software though along with the picture(s).

A more personal touch with a consistent and predictable publishing schedule? Really not sure... they're pretty similar!
Cold outreach to start. Now the majority of guests reply to the emails or DM me on Twitter asking if they can also be included.

I've never offered anyone anything for participating other than allowing them the opportunity to plug anything they'd like in their intro!

Of course!

I handle all outreach/content organization through Twitter DMs and GMail.

I do all writing + publishing through Substack.

Starting next week I will have a much more visual site that's using Webflow. Super excited for the refreshing change!

I started with 1 edition per week. I upped it to 2x due to an increasing backlog (may need to up to 3x but TBD on that).

For now you can shoot me a DM here https://twitter.com/rjgilbert or email me at ryangilbert dot co and we can kick things off!

In a ~week or so I will have a better way to welcome submissions :)

Haha I appreciate it!

Weird flex indeed. Some (most) people are probably more productive in a clean and thought out workspace vs a laptop on a couch sort of deal. I think the spaces and the people behind them sort of proves that.

I’ve never used it as a publisher but don’t like the design much as a reader of a couple newsletters hosted on it.
I guess it’s a good thing that I like cats.
