I'm already not disappointed that we didn't get Amazon's HQ but I'm still disappointed about the Regional Transit vote. Luckily it might be on the ballot again in 2018.

Udacity has done what any good start-up should and launched a solid MVP and iterated on it, delivering free, in-demand courses in a short amount of time. No, the materials and scripts have not always perfect but they are still more valuable than many college courses I've taken. If he is in fact leaving to focus energy on Udacity, isn't that a positive move in regards to your critiques?
Colors are certainly a significant part of user experience, so although I agree that these issues exist, I disagree with the solutions.
Comments shouldn't be pink/red because they are not necessarily a bad thing. Just make them bold and opaque.
Changing to blue and yellow for diffs is equally as wrong as red/green but more confusing. Blue signifies safe information and yellow signifies warning. It would be better to use the same color for deletions and additions but make deletions darker to show they are stale/rotted and additions brighter to show freshness.

I'm sitting here (Detroit suburbs) trying to read this article while the lawn service is outside cutting, trimming, and blowing. Recently I've been looking at houses closer to the city, but considering northern Canada at this point.

To mark my place when scrolling.
It was fun anyways. Applying really lit a fire under my ass. Since September, I learned a ton about web development and starting a business.
The panic button reminds me of Gary from Team America... "It's me! It's me!"
Right there with you, I think about this everyday I drive to and from work. It is absolutely insane to have millions of people "in control" of their cars. Where do I sign up?

As a former Ford test driver, I can tell you they are no longer going in this direction.
Should be raking in that billion dollars any minute now.
It really says something then, that 80% of the vote is still Yes.
Can you make it work on mobile with controls on the page?
Also, it's worth mentioning that Udacity and CodeAcademy are teaching Python to thousands of new programmers.
I really like the idea that with less day to day work to be done, people will be able to work on helping pull third-world countries forward. I just see first-world society having a real hard time letting go of the 40 hour/week, "earn your living" job. And how do we feed and house people without an income? Maybe the droid building companies (Google, Apple, IBM, etc) can/should fund these philanthropic movements.
I agree, there has to be a balance in any work atmosphere. I just think individuals with ideas for improving a company should not be resisted, but valued and encouraged to share their thoughts. In my opinion, a good business should be thought of as a team of professionals operating harmoniously, not a monarchial society where leadership makes the decisions for everyone and there is a constant 'climb the ladder to the top' philosophy. I suppose it's essentially a debate of forms of government.
"We are moving into a future where entrepreneurial minded people will be the only kind of worker that have Real Value."
I certainly hope so. It is so excruciatingly frustrating to go to a job everyday where that trait is inhibited by a 'just do your job and shut up' environment.
Felt like the first day I got my ant farm when I was a kid. :)

Some very interesting chunks of information there considering my application for YC W13 is for a 'local' idea. Picked out some things I'll be sure to think about as I'm building the beta. Thanks!
