FOSDEM is a great conference!

If you ever get the chance to go, please go! Especially if you're an American I recommend it. It is so different than any other conference I've ever been to in the US.

It doesn't have a lot of sales pitches, the technical content is top notch, and overall it is really fun and interesting to see what everybody is talking about and working on.

I'll kick it off again for you.

In 2.0 you can sign extensions with your own key and have your own extension repo. Thats the plan at least.

In 1.5 - Haybarn has its own signing key, but its much faster to get extensions released and deployed.

You can get in touch with me, or open an issue or PR as to why.

The CI extension build runs are still public on GitHub, but may have expired, if you bump your git sha ref it will rerun.

If you need a fork, I've already done most of the hard work for all of you.

Or

I've been releasing the versions all the way since 1.5.3 and all community extensions.

I've already created Haybarn which is Query.Farm's distribution of DuckDB:

Look at the white text on white background in Appendix F. Pretty funny.

Re:Show HN: DuckDB for Kafka Stream Processing on Monday December 08, 2025 @02:10PM (#46196322)
The next major release of Tributary will support Avro, Protobuf and JSON along with the Schema Registry it will also bring the ability to write to Kafka with transactions.

But really you should get excited for DuckDB Labs to build out materialized views. Materialized views where you can ingest more streaming data to update aggregates. This way you could just keep pushing rows through aggregates from Kafka.

It is going to be a POWER HOUSE for streaming analytics.

Contact DuckDB Labs if you want to sponsor the work on materialized views: https://duckdb.org/roadmap
