Re:Introducing LFM3: Every Modality for Specialized Intelligence on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @04:57AM (#50270813)
Fantastic, I need to try it! Thanks!!
Congrats for the achievement!

I'm curious if this model would be useful for OCR or at least text documents parsing (PDF, DOCX, etc.), what do you think?

Re:Pi's Minimalism Is Its Advantage on Wednesday August 05, 2026 @07:05AM (#49181115)
I don't get the XDG appeal of having all the data of an app scattered all over the home dir when I can just have a .dir of an app with everything inside.
You need to ask what happened in Tienanmen square
Re:Show HN:Getting GLM 5.2 running on my slow computer on Friday July 10, 2026 @05:12AM (#48857597)
Looking at the progress with DS4 project from Antirez and Colibri, are we probably going in the direction of having a stripe RAID of SSDs instead of RAM to get decent performance without losing a kidney to the RAM mafia? I really hope so.

The motivation that the USA entered WWII was not because they were generous, but because the 3rd Reich was effectively becoming a big European nation, so they had to do something to avoid it. A unified Europe is a thread to the USA and Russia and maybe somebody else too.
I made my own agent harness inspired by OpenClaw, but with internal group messaging between agents and memory sharing confined in agent groups. Plus Telegram integration with multiple agents in one channel using topics: https://bazilion.com/
Re:Ferrari Luce – Designed with Jony Ive on Tuesday May 26, 2026 @03:48AM (#48276477)
I don't get how Ive is getting so much praise as a designer, after designing the worst iPhones ever and a Ferrari that looks like a Toyota Prius on steroids.
I understand the need for memory footprint in some situations, but what's the point of seeking performance for a software that mostly calls LLMs and waits?
I think it's one (but not the only) reason that makes LLMs work very well with Ruby on Rails
Re:Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (April 2026) on Monday April 13, 2026 @01:46AM (#47748077)
I’m working on an ATS system that integrates LLMs for helping the recruiter in writing job descriptions, parsing CVs to Markdown, making summaries of CVs and suggest which ones match the best the job offers giving pluses and minus: https://beehive-ats.com/

Re:Page Object (2013) on Monday September 15, 2025 @03:46AM (#45247159)
So if you have a page that is common between, lets say, 30-40 tests, you prefer to copy/paste the new selectors everywhere?
Re:OpenAI to buy AI startup from Jony Ive on Wednesday May 21, 2025 @03:04PM (#44055003)
Ive just designed not practical thin furniture, like the bending iPhones and the ultra thin MacBooks with no way to release heat and the keyboard that was getting broken after pressing a bit too hard

It's great for sending your 6 GB hello world exe to your friends I suppose
Re:.NET on Heroku Now Generally Available on Friday April 04, 2025 @04:20AM (#43579585)
I'm using Kamal for a Ruby on Rails app on a dedicated server on Hetzner. Works like a charm! Did you find it difficult to deploy a .NET, because of the documentation oriented more towards Rails?
Re:Self-Hosting like it's 2025 on Tuesday April 01, 2025 @10:04AM (#43546936)
Great! Are you also deploying DB servers or any other kind of additional servers that are dependencies of those webapps?
Re:Self-Hosting like it's 2025 on Tuesday April 01, 2025 @07:27AM (#43545479)
What about Kamal? https://kamal-deploy.org/ Did anybody here use it for anything that is not a Ruby on Rails app?
Re:Switching from Pyenv to Uv on Wednesday March 12, 2025 @05:18PM (#43347777)
Why in the Python ecosystem you change package manager every 2 week?!? What’s wrong with you pythonist people?!?

I don't know somewhere else but, in Italy, buying / getting stolen stuff from somebody else is a specific kind of crime as well. You need to give a solid explanation why you have a stolen good.
Re:Inkscape 1.4 Released on Friday October 18, 2024 @05:20AM (#41877652)
Is it only me that, when I open Inkspace, I really cannot get anything done without watching a tutorial or reading docs / blog posts?
Re:Almost all new car sales in Norway last month were EVs on Saturday September 14, 2024 @06:10PM (#41543439)
So the only way to push all people to buy EV right now is… distort the market with taxes on combustion engine vehicles.
Re:The Cheapest NAS on Thursday July 04, 2024 @03:05AM (#40872959)
Can you tell us HOW to setup a NAS so that it doesn't need ECC RAM?
Re:The Cheapest NAS on Wednesday July 03, 2024 @04:41PM (#40869773)
Ignorant person question here: “why they make NAS servers without ECC memory?”
