It is a nice tool, seems early stage. Coincidence: I just adopted Joplin, it does all I need, it would benefit from some network analyses of semantic concepts but that would be Perfection with little value at the end...
Specialised online gaming once per week, soya lecithin 3 per week, gingko on key days or max twice ler week. Other supplements in rotational basis. Only a supplement per day, only 3 days per week.
Re:Ask HN: Is Misinformation a Solvable Problem? on Tuesday June 18, 2024 @08:49PM (#40723612)
The problem is the spreading of it, and given human social dynamics, there is no permanent solution.

I remember reading these passages and having the intellectual temptation of thinking in these lines. Ok but somehow a forced connection?
Re:Can LLMs invent better ways to train LLMs? on Thursday June 13, 2024 @11:21PM (#40677228)
Would that not be a form of self consciousness?
I imagine this thing organising my agenda for the rest of my life
Please do you have in mind a sample of this content oriented for younger generations? Thanks for your time and consideration.
The research community is talking about creating a body to summarise existing knowledge for the public and decision-making communities --- the IPCC sort, but no one knows why is it not happening yet.
A tough question indeed. The literature IMHO only covers some limited aspects and partial views to the whole system. Then there is the paywall problem for scientific literature. Honestly I don't know where to start.

EDITED: A suggested starting point https://eatforum.org/

I am a food system scholar and endorse this 100%
Because it is always omitted that we have no Phosphorus available to realise its potential....
Oh the collapse of frontiers, that Fearful catastrophic event of our time, that we need to keep mantra-ing, less we forget the dangers of migration.
Lots of young 30ish ladies in Japan cannot have children because they are taking care of their elder parents. Just mentioning this bit, that is often omitted in the debate.

And still it is commonly incompletely answered.
I see the mental health issue.
Yes, but how can I long-term keep it organised and handy after a notebook is complete?
Important. Before reading this, and in the light of ongoing H5N1 events in Twxas, at home we started drinking bottle milk from the normal supermarket shelf (before we were drinking it from the COLD shelf). So the way I understand it, is that now we should trust the milk from the cold shelf? Implicit trust is given to industrial processing, fir which I never heard of any experiment, just mentioning I hope the regulator does a perfect job.

The frame was rebuilt by reading "Master Your Emotions" by T Meurisse. About the limits, just don't.... Good luck.

NY has these old quirks, strange for me too coming from Europe.

Reminds me of arriving late a winter night into a mountain shelter at 2000 m. after 6h of approximation... to find that another team arrived earlier and consumed all the means to start a fire, failing on it. My companion digged out some paper from his cigarettes box and succeeded, to the cheering of all happy present individuals.

Losing my job in my mid 30s, and changing career trajectories with 2 children.

I learned my own limits. And importantly, that we are how we frame ourselves: a loser, a victim, a believer, or someone humbly exceptional. Thanks for asking.

Universities are rigged by internal politics. In this case the guy will be hit by external politics later than sooner, but this will set little precedent for exemplary behaviour.
Grey area? Entire disciplines and research areas (theoretical macroeconomics, string theory, ...) could be so.
Yain, meaning yes and no, because of shifting baselines and other co-occurring dynamics, perhaps there are other natural and man-made uses already taking place?
I sympathise with the struggle of losing a major specie, and of course the cultural significance is great and will never fully vanish.

One thing is to protect nature, another to reject somehow inevitable change happening all the time.

A legitimate concern could emerge on discussing whether there is no better plan, because IMHO this plan offered false hopes, and perhaps many such restoration plans provide more hopes than quantitative performance indicators.

I mean surely populations would exist, bit the spatial and cultural significance of the species is gone.

And, for how long do we want to believe that environmental change (including fungus) can be frozen in a specific time moment that should be preserved?

IMHO this is a romantic effort, no one can plant a tree species at such a scale.
Re:Ask HN: Anonymous Pre-Print with DOI? on Monday May 27, 2024 @05:16AM (#40489088)
I apologise, I found the answer here: https://openreview.net/group?id=OpenReview.net/Anonymous_Pre...

Still, I would like to use this mechanism to keep my blog posts as records of my thinking lines. Would blogposts qualify as pre prints?
