wow, sorry this happened to you Ben. sounds like you took away a good lesson from it though, if nothing else. and I had no idea you created Deadline, that's awesome!

Here's an article from Mar 26 in the NEJM where Fauci writes that C19 may be no worse than a severe flu season:

"If one assumes that the number of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic cases is several times as high as the number of reported cases, the case fatality rate may be considerably less than 1%. This suggests that the overall clinical consequences of Covid-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of a severe seasonal influenza (which has a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%)"

Yes, and the assets passed down to the next generation would also be spent, thus further improving the economy.
Airbnb is simply a listing service. If you have a problem, blame the host, not the platform. My advice: book with superhosts or listings with at least 4.5 stars. Maybe you just don't like the idea of vacation rentals in general? If that's the case, go to a hotel instead, but don't advocate taking away this option for everyone else.
Another reason to never own property in SF or NY.
AirBnB is liable because AirBnB will absolutely NOT let owners communicate with potential renters outside of their walled garden, or to independently verify a renter's credit or criminal history. That absolutely puts all of the liability onto AirBnB. (why does this keep getting deleted?)
Re:Self-hosted Git Server on Monday March 17, 2014 @02:20PM (#7416946)
heh, what at the odds: two libs that give you object-oriented access to git repos both coincidentally named the exact same thing:

python: github.com/rsgalloway/grit ruby: github.com/mojombo/grit

Exactly, it was the automatic Desktop Underwriting process that rejected this, not a human.

FTA: "and alcohol (and acetic acid) lengthen [telomeres]."

funny, these findings seem to contradict this study:

"Shortened telomeres in individuals with abuse in alcohol consumption" http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21351086

Shameless plug for my own Python git wrapper, grit:

Check out micasaverde.com and mios.com. Offers the same type of home automation products with no service fee, and there's an API if you want to hack it.

done.

Thanks for the feedback, I think those are some good suggestions. I admit ad placement is not something I'm good at. I'll continue to work on the layout a bit.
