Re:Firefox for Android is adding support for 400 add-ons on Thursday November 30, 2023 @11:49PM (#38483261)
I'm the creator of the Repibox recipe extension and it looks like it's working on Firefox mobile without me having to do anything. Pretty cool!

Shameless plug, Repibox is a recipe extension that immediately pulls the recipe into a modal on top of the page. You can add it to Firefox by going to Repibox.com

Series B, company is growing rapidly. Open to remote or hybrid in Austin, TX. Several full stack developer roles (no insurance experience needed) and lots of non-developer roles if you have an insurance background.

I built an extension called Repibox that pulls the recipe out of any website that has instructions/ingredients in the meta data and displays it immediately. First time I got an acquisition email was exciting, but then I realized any acquisition would do a disservice to my friends/family who use my extension.

Very cool project, I launched a similar project called Repibox.com that works on chrome and firefox. However, I like how you got this working for iOS, which is something I didn't get to do. Also, your layout is very clean. Well done!
Not yet, but you can scan the QR code to send the recipe to your phone.
Hi HN, I built Repibox as a way of improving the user experience when interacting with recipe sites.

I wanted to spend spend less time scrolling and more time cooking. This meant creating a straightforward UX that would let you read recipes in a consistent simple format.

When I started on this journey, I learned many things from friends and family who like to cook, but approach cooking in slightly different ways. For example, I was surprised by the number of people who requested a print icon to print and were unfamiliar with CMD+P or print in the browser menu. Another surprise was a lot of people still wanted to read the main recipe article or comments, so creating a straightforward way to minimize the recipe card modal was essential.

Current features include:

   • Pretty formatting of ingredients and instructions
   • Easy access to serving size and time estimates
   • Print and copy functions
   • Share to your device via QR code
