Ask HN: Method for knowing if one-way-encrypted data is identical to another?

Since 2018 when users of 1Password 7 upgrade to 1Password 8 all their entries got duplicated because of some bug. The identical entries have same creation and modification dates.1Password does not provide functionality to sweep and remove all duplicates. The reason for that, it's not possible to compare encrypted entries, since it's using one-way encryption function. Meaning even two...

Clickbait title. capsule landed as planned and transmitted location. There was no search to “locate” it as much as tracking it.

It seems like a very versatile framework, but nowhere I can find any recipe or guide of a very simple case - how to combine different types of charts in one? Like simple line chart overlaying the bar chart. It seems to be only possible by rendering them as completely separate charts and then overlaying one on top of each other in DOM? Which seems hacky.

Re:Postgresqlco.nf: a PostgreSQL configuration guide on Sunday February 02, 2020 @09:51AM (#22217151)
Why not make preset configurations for various RDS machine types. 90% of users running on AWS RDS repeating same steps to get same results.
Political party elected for money reasons that ignores science is a symptom of the problem, it is not the problem itself. Outdated laws and electoral two-party system is the problem.

Why no “top researcher” ever urges to look at the root of the problem? Why researchers of political science do not sound the alarm to change outdated laws that were written 100 years ago when they couldn’t imagine shameless lobbying, mega corporations, manipulated social networks, and climate emergency that clearly requires different political system to manage it.

So this is the next step. First human-pig chimera hybrids. Now their population is so big that they need to develop facial recognition.

This opens up possibility for keyboard that acts as touchpad if you press and slide finger. Like on the iPhone. And that, by removing touchpad opens possibility of smaller MacBook.
Re:Inter UI, a typeface designed for user interfaces on Sunday December 30, 2018 @01:09AM (#18787741)
Is it English/Latin only? What about localized interfaces?

Looks like apart from standard Helvetica/Apple/Microsoft fonts there’s a very small choice of fonts you can use if you have multi lingual UI.

It’s like creating a Latin font is relatively easy, but very few of them go all the way to full Unicode support.

Re:The rise of the pointless job on Friday May 04, 2018 @12:10PM (#16995688)
This is another argument in favor of universal income. Bullshit jobs is one of consequences of progress, low cost goods, food and comfort. With increasing automation it’s going to be get incrementally harder to find bullshit jobs for people. until society understands that not everyone can and have to be employed.
