Show HN: I redesigned Activity Monitor's dock icon to look native

Hey HN,I like keeping Activity Monitor in my dock, but the default icon always felt off. It technically shows activity, but visually it doesn’t feel like it belongs in macOS — more like a raw canvas than a proper system icon.So I rebuilt it.Same app, same data — just a dock icon that looks and behaves like a native macOS component, with a clean, readable CPU graph. No new features, just fixing...

Hey everyone

I just launched Shortcast AI — it turns any podcast into a short, high-quality summary in real human voices.

Most summaries are under 2 minutes, capturing key insights without losing tone or context. I built it because I love podcasts but rarely have time to finish full episodes.

Would love your feedback — especially on:

• The quality and naturalness of the voices

• How well the summaries capture the main ideas

You can try it here → https://shortcast.me

Happy to chat about the tech (summarization pipeline, TTS voices, ...).

Congrats
Awesome app. I was testing it and I highly recommend it!

50 most interesting services will be selected among all to get early access to our SDK.
Everything you saw on the presentation will be available with very few lines of code. By using Layer SDK you will get messages sync cross devices, delivery notifications, delivery dismissal when a message has been opened (if using multiple devices), offline messaging thats syncs when you come back online. All you'll have to do is to define a search query for your UITableViewController and style your UITableViewCell and you are done, we'll take care of everything else.
You can signup for beta access on http://layer.com.

Agreed ... and even more disappointing is when you have to say to your users to use Safari when 2 weeks ago you said to them to switch to Chrome :(

You need to go to chrome://flags to enable Web Audio Input. The request for the microphone has nothing to do with that .. it's working with or without Web Audio Input.

Chrome is a super browser .. we all agree .. it's just not acceptable for a bug like mentioned in the article to go through canary, beta and into stable version .. and stay there for 3 week+.

Re:Ask HN: When will the first HN account appear on eBay? on Thursday April 07, 2011 @05:10AM (#2418805)
My bet would be more like $0.01 and a $100 for a 1000 point account.
