what teeth do they have to enforce this? hyperliquid is "banned" in the USA, but i imagine a VPN can can get you around that ban
Re:Java 27 Released on Tuesday September 15, 2026 @04:40PM (#49718610)
Wasn't the discussion about greenfield projects? Or by greenfield do you mean internal greenfield projects at existing companies that already use Java?
Re:Java 27 Released on Tuesday September 15, 2026 @12:13PM (#49714754)
This is quite the take - i doubt most startups building in these spaces are using Java.
follow the discussion around this on X, i think just a few minutes of research on this topic / reading past the headline you'll find out that this is pretty much a nothingburger
you do realize "rare books" in this context most likely means random technical manuals nobody cares about and not collectors items, right?
How on earth have administrative costs been soaring when there have been so many healthtech startups propped up in the past 10 years to bring down the cost of administration?

Also - given the rate of AI progress, shouldn't we see this cost go to zero essentially.

It's not like traditional media is any better. At least with social media platforms the means of producing media and building a following has been democratized.
i've found this to be wrong a lot actually

high empathy means you feel what you think the other person is feeling,

Highly empathetic people have horrible theory of mind issues a lot of the time.

seems highly editorialized - one man's "untaxed" is another man's "following the incentives of the system"

is this some WASM magic?
FWIW Hinduism is alive and well today. The vedas come directly from the ancient steppe cultures

Does this just wrap cloudflare tunnels?
These discussions never discuss the priors, is this harm on a different scale then what preceded it? Like is social media worse than MTV or teen magazines?
I never understood these types of things, what niche are they going after?

This feels like it could be a competitor to QT, but without a real-time operating system like QNX, what's the point?

React Native won out over Fluter, Java Applets lost to HTML5 / JS, Framer is much better than Wordpress.

Time and time again, clever simulations on top of the native world are never worth it.

Re:Show HN: ut – Rust based CLI utilities for devs and IT on Sunday October 05, 2025 @03:38PM (#45484532)
is this stuff not pretty easy to do with python?

``` python -c "import base64; print(base64.b64encode('$INPUT_STRING'.encode('utf-8')).decode('utf-8'))" ```
yeah i don't understand - they spent a few months building a prototype... do people not understand what a prototype is?
This sounds like a nothingburger.
IT's policy is more for unauthorized credential sharing to a third party that is not legally acting as a designated data transfer agent. what argyle is doing is legal and fine.
Was the key unlock here the ability to append data to an object?
Re:Why not to use iframes for embedded dashboards on Sunday July 20, 2025 @08:05PM (#44630586)
i don't understand this product - i feel like tools like v0 can one-shot an analytics dashboard these days. i do think something like https://upsolve.ai/ provides real value though
If you have a shred of media literacy you will see like 5 red-flags in this article that will make you discard it completely. I'll leave it to others to debunk this article.
Anecdotally - working with Azure has been hell on earth for me. Insanely unintuitive and buggy interface. Many cryptic errors preventing me from doing anything.
Don’t host your website on containers, that’s what workers are for
Nice- why hono over Fastify?
not to be pedantic, but the examples you're describing are _process_, not _culture_.
Examples of culture would be: do nurses feel comfortable speaking up / questioning the lead surgeon? do surgeons feel like they can voice when they're overworked without fear of being perceived as a failure?
The price of an iphone has remained constant over the past ~20 years. It's arguably already fairly cheap for a device that is so important for everything we do (especially considering that there is marginal benefit to upgrading every year these days and an iphone from 5 years ago still functions fine)
How close to Postgres does this need to be? Like could you host this on Aurora DSQL and have unlimited scalability?
Or how would you scale this to support thousands of events per second?
Re:Supabase UI Library on Monday March 31, 2025 @03:25PM (#43538780)
supabase has the most schizoid brand. They should just embrace the fact that mobile devs don't want to do backend for their crud app rather than trying to be the "everything backend".
why are they releasing a web component library when React Native doesn't even have a decent UI library? Like who are supabase's customers again??
